Best part of that drum solo is that it feels like it could fall apart and fail at any moment, but it doesn’t and that’s so exhilarating.

It's hard to imagine that such a sound comes out of just 3 people on stage. All 3 each in their own right are incredibly good. Put them all together and it's even better.

They became my favorite band from the first minute I heard them. Lucky me; they've already played 2 times in our small town Jyväskylä (Finland)... and I mean they are just playing, because they can do almost what ever comes in their minds. So I agree with Andrew: They have the freedom!

This is when ones of the best and humblest musicians in the world show off. Just the decision to perform almost purely dry without any effects and processing. My god.
@farn4519 ай бұрын
you can tell the greats on any instrumennt from the people who have all the chops and the pocket: it's their phrasing. it's what they choose to play, how they choose to play it, link it, execute it and string it all together. it's what they choose NOT to play even though they can play it with their eyes shut.

When the band toured Australia several years ago, the second gig I saw them in Brisbane. Didn't have anything to sign but having come out of a movie hours before the show, I had a box of popcorn so they signed that instead. Loved their reactions too. Marco: "Popcorn?" Bryan: "First time for everything." Guthrie didn't say anything but still signed it like a good sport. 🤣 Such nice guys!

Andrew, It’s the same with all of them! The sound of those fantastic Mike Lull custom basses that Bryan Beller plays (I also play one of them as my main gigging instrument) is great, but it’s the same for his sound - it’s the sound of Bryan playing that bass, it’s not just the instrument. Your sound is in your hands and your brain.
@danielmolenda20739 ай бұрын
That song is pretty artsy as like rock blues, jazz as all the different elements in that song I couldn’t describe it, but the way you describe it was amazing. Love your show. Thanks for putting that future. The drummer is amazing Marco nobody could like him. And our use dresses as feelings on their drums emotion touch when one person plays the drums and another person tries to play. The same thing never gonna sound the same even on guitar even on bass even syncing music is art.

A deliberate method they use to encourage the best from the trio is that they each write three songs designed to leverage the abilities of the others and themselves in each album. Nine songs every time. They all know they’re bad-asses and they challenge one another to bring it.

Andrew great reaction! It would be hard find 3 musicians more in sync with each other - you've reacted to them a few times now and you still haven't done a full, Marco drum solo .I wish I could do a paid request for their song "Blues Trucker with an F" so you could see his solo with the best cymbal work I've ever seen - even if it doesn't make your channel you should watch it as a must see & then u'll probably put it on cause it'll floor ya

Random factoid, related trivia (because what is there even to say about them other than "incredible".) Senri Kawaguchi actually sat in for Marco on the song Erotic Cakes. There's a video somewhere, but the angle doesn't show her well at all, also of her doing some fun little stick tricks with Marco. Guthrie is a wizard btw.

Too bad the video was altered/made by a guitar w**ker... the guitar volume has either been boosted, or just made to ruin the rest somehow! I LOVE guthrie... the sound here is a disgrace though! Marco is phenomenal, so is the bassist.... The boosted guitar sound actually destroys the sensibilities of Guthries playing.... Great pick, and good reaction, Andrew, Marco Minnemann has always been up there..... This gig reminds me of seeing Scott Henderson & Tribal Tech all three times.... The virtuosity, the pocket, the insane level of being better than recording, and still play with excess ability to pour from...
