Very accurate to the modern day Andrewsfield. This is my home airfield, I'm based out of here and I worked there for 4 years before leaving to do full time Commercial training. It's extremely accurate. But to answer your question, the grass is not that long :D thats always been an issue with MSFS with Grass strips, I can assure you the grass is always cut short as its busy with the private owners and club aircraft everyday. The hangars are also more full of aircraft compared to whats in the sim, with 3 aircraft in each of the semi-circle hangars, and around 8/9 in the big green one next to them. And then about 7 in the Hangar round the back where the G-BURN is in. Outside parking towards runway 27L/R is quite busy like that too. The runways are split and we use the left side (27L/09R) in the summer season when the ground is firm, and then use the right side (27R/09L) during winter as the runway gets quite wet and waterlogged on occasions, and 27R/09L has matting on it which helps operation during the wetter, muddier months. Theres videos on my channel of the airfield which are all from recent years.

There is also night lighting on the runway with a 2 unit PAPI lighting on 27L/R end only. compared to whats modelled in the sim

I love that they have even gone as far as making a scale model for the club house. Really looks great.

When i was a child I lived in the area. I used to cycle up there and play on the old Mystere airframe. I could climb in the open hatches in the fuselage which are at the point just forward of the engine, and then crawl down the air intake and drop out of the nose. :)

In the U.S. we call those "semi-circle" hangars Quonset Huts. The name comes from the site of their first manufacture at Quonset Point at the Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center in Davisville, Rhode Island. Hundreds of thousands were produced in WWII.

The long grass is a bug introduced in Sim Update 5, developers have no control over it's length sadly.

Yeah I figured it might be the case Adam. Great job on the scenery :)

Do they honestly have 2 runways directly adjacent to eachother? I thought that was just a MSFS issue. But this airport looks so good, they put in so many details!
@sxssio2 жыл бұрын
Yes they do, but not used simultaneously. More for distributing the wear and tear on the grass.

It would be wonderful but that high grass on runway.... when will developers ( and Asobo) understand that in airports, even the small ones, grass must be cut wery low or ... you cannot take off or land? With such high grass you crash your aircraft. Not to mention a glider....
