Usually, the drive rolls of a twin wire press need to be removed once a year for regrinding or to replace the roll cover. In many twin wire presses, the roll drive comprises two planetary gearboxes with torque arms in both directions. With these drives, the lower drive roll can only be dismantled when the upper roll is removed - which is quite laborious.
The patented ANDRITZ dDrive has clear advantages over the standard drive solution:
Each drive roll can be dismounted separately, and disassembly is much easier.
Maintenance costs and machine downtime for dismantling the drive rolls are greatly reduced.
The closed drive system ensures better corrosion protection for all drive components.
The new direct drive design can be adjusted to all sizes of twin wire presses.
