My problem with the essential phone was the camera. Compared to the pixel line up it's just not good. That and CalyxOS/GraphineOS for privacy.

For me if you have old phone....A10 is most stable android....i will recommend to good A10 custom rom + battery kernel.......smooth & battery

Essential has been on LOS 21 +Magisk 27 with modules, but failed Play Integrity check. As a result, Google Wallet and other functionalities do not work. I reverted to the last Essential stock ROM. Is it risky to relock the bootloader after flashing the stock ROM, considering the risk of bricking the device if a flash goes wrong and locks it out forever?

Do you need to lock the bootloader? Cause if you don’t need to, I wouldn’t.

I highly recommend you put LineageOS this way your always up to date and you can update all the security patches and update to the latest version. This is what I did on my Essential Phone. As my second device. I used Pixel Experience on my Pixel 2 XL but not really a stable rom.

I actually did and am not a fan. Waiting for a better 14 rom though as I don't remember this being out when I started working on this video

On that can film this video, which this phone is not capable of. This is $100 all day on eBay, while the S10 is $30+ more for a must more usable phone (that lacks software customization through). So the ROMability is what makes the essential phone good.
