True,its better for Google to make subtle but crucial changes(like security related ones) while leaving more minute and visual changes largely to the OEMs and their respective custom skins,after all the main strength of Android as a OS is its versatility and openness. Perhaps the updates themselves may be delayed a bit as a result,but its better than getting than getting buggy updates from OEMs. Finally,as monthly security patches are similar for all Android devices,perhaps Google can itself release them on Google Play Store going forward for quicker and more routine roll outs.

there is actually a massive change under the hood that most people don't talk about. this change is probably the single biggest upgrade android has seen in years. and that upgrade is that android 15 finally drops opengl es completely in favor of vulcan. this could mean huge performance improvement and graphics quality in games.

@@yeff3606 nope. vulkan improves performance as it allows the application to access cpu and gpu more freely. vulkan improves cpu to gpu communication and it also allows for easier cache memory access. vulkan not only performs better than opengl, it's also more efficient. opengl is an ancient api at this point.

Bro who cares about games let's be honest. Nobody is gaming on a phone religiously. Tech is advanced enough, everything runs great. I want design changes and useful features. And i don't mean design changes for changes sake, but actually thoughtful changes. Features like one handed mode that i have on my Samsung is extremely useful. Or the ability to move the cursor by sliding your finger on the space bar/deleting entire lines of text by holding the backspace button and sliding left. Things that make you go "why didn't Android phones have this sooner??" I want more of that 😁 Edit: OH and of course, can't forget the swipe gestures. I don't use the android buttons. I've removed even the home swipe indicator line at the bottom of my screen so that my entire screen is cleaner looking. My favorite feature of swipe gestures is how you can swipe to go back from the left AND the right of the screen. I'll never understand Apple's "swipe from left only" design. WHY??

I'm an Android loyalist but have to admit that iOS has become so much more dynamic over the past decade. There's great attention to UI/UX detailing & cohesion, and there are lively creative animations and design elements sprinkled throughout the OS. Android feels stale and stiff in comparison. Google needs to wake up from their complacence and hire better UI/UX designers and engineers.

I'm pretty sure if you ask anybody who daily drive BOTH android and ios, they will tell you the same thing has been true since long back. The only problem is the restrictions imposed by Apple in ios for the most absurd and nonsensical things, on which Apple has made HUGE strides but still some significant key aspects its still lacking. However, judging how Google has been clamping down the opposite way on Android in certain areas (bootloader, custom FW, rooting, permissions etc) both might reach a singularity point soon enough

The new add on features that they make is just a gimmick and it's not a must have type of features anymore. iOS is way more optimize due to their own software being hardwired to work well with any apps. Longer support. Some Android do last long but 90% of them just doesn't last 4-5 years because of their short ass support system so it eventually slow down even if the phone is still running. Again, some Android do last long but talking about the avg maintenance of Android phone is not on the level of iPhone. If u are the type of guy who upgrade phone every 2/3 years, than Android is definitely better. And I think Android should focus more on their support system rather than this more bigger, faster (faster we mean 1 secs faster than last year type of thing). Heat issue in the long run because of their hardware.

Actually the action button is very good. I run a Siri Shortcut on it that change the function base on where I am and what I do. When I am at work it opens a specific app for my work. At the train station it shows me the ticket. In my car it navigates me to a location based on my calendar. When the Sun set and I am at home it toggles the flashlight. When I am on vacation (based on calendar) it picks a random food style and navigates me to a restaurant nearby.

Stock android is ugly compared to ios18, and I have both right now. Its amazing how far android has fallen behind iPhone with things like having more widget options on AOD display. Android widgets on AOD are limited to system apps only. Also being able to see detailed notifications on iPhone's AOD, which android still doesn't have. Yes, io18 still has countless limitations, but that gap is gradually shrinking, and if complacent Google doesn't put an effort, Android phones will be left for the community to update.

Android 15 updates are very insignificant for an entire annual OS update. But the upgrades they have done are very useful. Obviously most updates any phone or OS brings nowadays are copied or similar to existing ones. Iphones major update for the last 2 iterations of IOS very a-z copied from android features existing years ago. But I did not see reviewers commenting about it as sarcastically as you did for Android 15. Also I used the adaptive haptics in beta and it was very useful. The phone will vibrate very hard when its on a table for you to take notice but will not vibrate as much when its in your hand or pocket....etc. Being very unbiased can do a lot for getting subscribers and avoiding losing exisotng ones.

That setting of android archive apps ,anti theft is already ported to Android 10 even before Android 15 was out, it's just that on Android 15 you completely have settings for each but android theft has no difference settings with android 10

Very disappointing. Everything is same in stock android since android 12. Just minor changes, no visual changes. Adding 1-2 new features every year and labeling it as OS update. In PIXEL 6A, they didn't even fix a major bug that came after android 14 last year - device freezing and not responding much while charging. I don't need such an update, feels like I'm still on android 12. Pixels are way too hyped especially by youtubers.

How can we get a battery replacement especially because brands like samsung and iPhone give genuine parts, but cheaper or budget midrange phones like realme oppo poco iqoo doesn't produce battery parts after a period of like 2-3 years especially when the charge cycle of the phone is used up. Please help.

Hey! Trying to have smooth animations is not an ios thing, everybody wants to achieve that 🤷. And that app-archival, was there in Lenovo Android phones before. I don't exactly remember the model name but it came with front firing duel speakers, my friend used to have this and it had that archival feature. 15 is not even a considerable update, but comparing it with ios is not reasonable either.

MIUI/ Funtouch OS/Moto/Samsung UI have more features than Android updates since 4 5 years. Google saturated in its software improvement and even Pixel standard. Its not moving anywhere.
