Thank you! :) It gave me NullPointerException error for getItemCount() in adapter. I changed return companiesList?.size!! TO return if (companiesList == null) 0 else companiesList?.size!! Works.

The idea behind dagger-android is to reduce the boilerplate needed to inject objects. To be even more specific, the idea is to reduce that boilerplate code in Fragments, Activities or any other Android framework classes that are instantiated by the OS. The goals of Hilt are: To simplify Dagger-related infrastructure for Android apps. Hope that help!

you need to upgrade your kotlin version based on the Android studio latest version Old kotlin version are not supported.
