If you haven't figured out the AC thing, in the protocol settings under factory settings you'll find the A/C flash screen. You can disable that and also Enable the floating AC Icon. Those are the only two AC options there. The way it would work is that when you push the buttons, the AC would work as intended, but nothing will change on the screen. IF you want to set the temp or anything specifically, you can use the floating button which I have on my lower right corner. So far so good. May not be idea for some, but I find this pop-up annoying, and there's no way to stop them as the buttons are sensitively cheap. head unit works great and great audio. The only issue is some intermitency with Carplay and Android Auto, more on the Carplay side. But when it does work, it works fine. I'm fine tuning the settings as I go to get rid of the non-essentials as I only use it for music and nav.

So I googled it which is what I should have done in the biginning and yes I did leave the floating button for when I need a certain temp. Aside from that I'm ok with AA, I've found my work around with it and if anything I'll just connect it via USB. There is car link too which is like 25 bucks I think. It's supposed to be smooth, better than zlink.

You don't need the floating icon for AC, is very ugly, you just have to download and set your car specifications from factory setting/canbus/Toyota/lexus is (high or low version) .. etc. then you have to close the pop up AC display but then you have to put the AC from car setting only, but it wouldn't pop up in your face while you'r driving again.

Hello I had the same unit in my car for 2007 lexus is250 in your setting for protocol settings you pressed Toyota i dont see an option for lexus is250 also my air conditioner is working but having a problem switching to heat mode

Have you figured out a way on how to change the logo when it boots up because I’ve had mine for like a year almost and I haven’t been able to change it to the Lexus logo when I turn on the car 😔

Never looked into it, when I turn the car on it boots straight to the home screen. I don't see it boot unless I restart it.

It works fine, I wouldn't really run heavy apps other than maps and a different launcher though. I got the extra ram so that it's smoother.

Not really. My phone in 2013 had 2gb of ram and my current phone has 12gb, so 2gb is pretty bad and id go for a higher spec of the unit.

@@KK001 well I used KZbin on it so I'm speaking from what I experienced. But again I'm not using it for that I got it for AA and because I didn't have a backup camera. Plus a phone is constantly connected to the Internet and running multiple apps where the unit is just communicating with the phone. There's a 1Gig unit but I'd stay away from that. My unit hasn't crashed nor showed glitches.

Yeah u can but at this point the disc part is just cosmetic. Personally I'm not a fan of the Tesla screen and I didn't want the radio to look aftermarket. This is as close to factory as it can get.

2 gb ram, perfect for regular apps. There is a 6gb model too, but I'm using it for Android Auto so I don't need much.

Did you reboot the system? Reboot it through car settings. It's on the left bottom column.

After installed mine my hazard light flashing when someone on my passenger seat . Any idea ?

Make sure you plugged everything correctly. Trouble shoot it by doing through each plug until you find which activates it. I had something similar turning on the car. Turns out there was a plug on the amp that was misplaced, once plugged in correctly everything was good.

None at all, did you connect the antenna from the bottom unit to the new head unit?

@mexag720 I plugged the antenna wire from the car to the bottom of the radio, and then for the top one I plugged in the gps and antenna that came with the unit. I'm guessing this is wrong.

You can but I haven't tried it. I did install a movie app and well the screen isn't the best so the night scenes were not that great. But it can handle movie streaming.

It's not perfect I can't always get it to connect but I usually restart both my system and the unit. I delete it from my previous devices list. And I run zlink first and then go to BT and connect from there to the phone. Give it a minute. If not disconnect and reconnect.

So you can't change the apps on the main page. You need a launcher that allows that.

Should, if you go into the system settings there's a video format option. I read somewhere the factory backup cam does work.

You mean separate driver and passenger temps? Yes they work individually, through the physical buttons or the touch screen.

@@mexag720 mmm Nice to know that it is possible to get the physical temp buttons to work. Did you use the obd (canbus) connector to get this work? What Year is your car from? Do you have a picture of your canbus box? Can you make a photo of the canbus / software firmware version? Try to fix this for months. edit: i See in the first part of this video that you have the same canbus decoder. So i’m happy to find Someone with the same configuration. Maybe the answere on the questions above will help me with debugging. Do you have a picture of wich cables you use?

@@Marvin1985NL no it's the factory wiring. Technically the non nav is just temp buttons and a display for the radio frequencies. Adding the display moves the buttons around. The OEM nav system is similar to this one. You have physical buttons but also can use the touchscreen.

@@mexag720 aha, the physical buttons don't work at my radio. The touchscreen buttons offcourse do work. Before changing to this radio. I had the basis radio (non nav). I think we both have the same setup, but my buttons don't work. Maybe it has to do with the decoder. I red that there is an US and Europe version. I live in the netherlands (europe), so maybe that is the case. I have the same decoder HW en SW (software) as you do. I say that number on the video. I appcreciate your help. Good to know that the OBD connector is not necessary for the button's to control. i will install discord on my phone. In nl it's nog widely used.

Haven't tried it but it does have an app for that and the Original AM FM Radio but I used the antenna for this android unit. The OEM Bluetooth still tries to connect though.

How did u route the backup cam wires?

I had it done in a shop but when I opened the trunk and was kind of inspecting the work it looks like he ran them through the driver side.

You have 2 options. Or via OBD, or use the wiring method. If you search on 'Android backup camera wiring' you find a lot.

No mine had the non nav system. But I've read that it can work with it.

You could try connecting it first to see if compatiable or not. If not, then you would need to purchase the decoder for the factory back-up camera to communicate with the Android Head Unit.

Apple car play is flawless Android Auto is a pain at times but I think I figured it out. I'll try to get a video on that soon.
