if assets manager can be used to get components of assets folder without creation of a static integer field than what is the need of res? We can save some memory if we only use assets folder. Isn't it so?

one doubt : if assests folder is much flexible and better than "res" folder . why we need that res folder ? it increases the memory size by creating static field , we simply delete the res folder right? and By using Assests there is no need the support of R.java then which will act as interface between the xml and java file .how will we interface it?

Res drawable file is used for images and support different screen size and density. Is this possible with assets also? If not then when to assets and when to use res for images
