Wonderful sounds coming out of your Frankensynth. Despite all the Android upgrades, you managed to keep all things going wonderfully. Keeping things "up to date" costs a small fortune these days, which was not the smallest reason I switched a big portion of my music to soft synths. Good stuff M !
@m10538Ай бұрын
@@GeorgeSundancermusic Thanks, George! At this point you only need one synth or one computer. Recent Rolands and Korgs have their new and old synth engines inside, all in one synth! And depending on what your device can take you can cram it with hundreds of softsynths! Lots of softsynths are free too as you can see on Steve Webb's channel. It's never been easier to synth!

You are bringing me back a few years..... It's a good bring in me back.... All these? Synthesizers I had and enjoyed them tremendously.... I probably was more creative back then.Because I played real music... No. W with all this modular and twisting knobs it's not the same... Thanks for sharing this
@m10538Ай бұрын
@@rhampton1914 Synths began as modular, like with the Moogs, Reg. So you haven't 'gone astray' messing with them. You're doing real synthesis. Your last upload was 'real music' and I enjoyed it. I think you're too hard on yourself sometimes. But then you're more talented than me and John who have a "meh, that's good enough" attitude. Only perfectionists like you reach your talent level so I guess your attitude isn't a bad thing.

@m10538 Thanks I appreciate that... I guess I needed to hear sort of some counseling...lol.... Like John said in his earlier video a couple of months ago.Sometimes we just get lazy and i'm thinking and we criticize everything we do.... So much new gear coming out kind of depressing.. No I admire YOU,,,why?... Keeping your older gear like that. It's very rare these days. Everybody wants to lay this in the greatest. Just to find out it's really not the greatest. I don't know if any of that really is any useful logic, because. Like the girl sit in the movie contact. What's her name Jodie Foster??... She says life is what we make it so it doesn't matter what instrument we have.We just have to make the best of it , but I do admire the fact that you have some old school gear that you're hanging on to

@@rhampton1914 Speaking of older gear, when I was a teenager I wanted a guitar. Parents bought me a new Gretch Tennessean. It was the exact same one that the Beatles used. (George Harrison) Imagine if I still had that guitar as it's well over $5-6K now. Old gear is good gear..!!!

So now you know why we synth nuts buy & sell gear like maniacs. Outdated or any time things don't work, we buy & sell. Nice presentation on your current setup. Wonderful ambient. Once again you nailed it.

@@John-E Tech is outdated after three weeks at this point. I ain't gonna fall for that, John. I get something new only after something breaks. That's because I'm frugal. Ok, I'm a cheapskate, I admit it. 🤭

@@m10538 You are so right. Almost all new electronics (TVs, stereos, music gear, etc.) are made now so they fail way before they should. They make everything cheaper now for more profit. Profit on the item and more profit when it breaks earlier than expected. What ever happened to, build it right the first time so it lasts..? If it was made in the 50's or 60's you have a good product. Not anymore ... sigh.....

@@John-E Check this out, John: the best circular saw I ever used? An old Sears one from the 60s. After going through 5 or 6 new plastic body ones someone gave me the old all metal Sears saw many years ago and it still works! The heat at the brushes is what melted many a plastic modern saw. I'll never ever need another saw than the Sears! I hope I'm not putting any circular saw making people out of work though. 🤔
