I bought one when it was 1st released, found it yesterday in a drawer in the house, charged it, powered up, still works like a charm. Bearing in mind, it's been sat in that drawer for about 6 or 7 years.

I thought this was a very informative video, and, motivated me to purchase one for my wife. I would like to add a little suggestions though. When you said that reading things in landscape mode, like emails and such, on the top of your wrist, can be uncomfortable......I would suggest, then placing the watch on the underside of your wrist facing you. When you turn your wrist up with the palm of your hand facing up towards you, it, then, makes it easier and a more natural movement to hold that position. Thought I'd just throw that in there. Again.....thanks for the review.

I know its "dated", but I'm buying one tomorrow new in box for $15 to be used with my Note 9. Don't need a bunch of extra features, just need to check the time and date, some notifications, see who's calling, texts, and a few more. No need to worry about any damage either since it's only $15.

As long as these gadgets are aimed only at samsung phones, I consider them useless. Sammy should learn from Sony, Pebble and the new comers - Moto and Lg. As long as I'm "forced" to have a Samsung phone to make use of their wearables, they will not have me as client. I like to have freedom of choice.

I really really like this watch. The way it looks with that super wide screen curve look is just cool to me. However like you said it seems to be trying to do so much but doesn't have the power or apps etc to back it up. I am pretty excited to see how this evolves in the future.

I can almost see me and others wearing this Gear Fit on the underside of the wrist (the side of your palm). I find that this makes it an easier angle to read and use in landscape mode. (Try it, it is easier to have your arm perpendicular to you if it is palm-up than palm-down). Is it intended to be this way?

I saw that it shows distance covered in a run; does it need to have the phone connected to tell that, or near it, to track that distance? I mean, can I go out on a running day with it, without my phone, and still have the distance I covered calculated?

I think for fitness purposes, wearables are a nice addition since it's quick to look at while exercising. But for everyday walking around usage I don't see the point, as it seems rather redundant.

Though I am an apple person all the way, and The apple watch is my current dream watch, I actually love the gear fit. I did try one on and use it for a bit, and it was very easy to use. It is also an excellent but more affordable option for a smartwatch

1 metre underwater up to 30 minutes, so theoretically you can swim upto 30 minutes but please no hardcore diving. The screen glass is quite durable to be honest, atleast as good as the Samsung gs6

it is water and dust resistant. sweat consist of water and salt as well as other toxins it will be able to withstand it but it is advisable to wash it with water (not running water ofcourse) after using for perfect use. :) I am using my gear fit (surprisingly compatible with nexus 5) and it is quite nice. I would personally recommend it. *****

I plan on getting this watch very soon, gonna be super pissed though when they come out with a better one (ie. Gear Fit 2) soon afterwards.
