I have same problem still cant resolve it with this tips.when i download the img it says its harmful file and give me the option to keep or discard,i select keep ,but if i click that file to open to see what happen it says is corrupted.

as weird as it might sound, what worked for me was adding quotation marks at the start and end of the path to the file. Looks like this: "C:\Platform-tools\twrp.img"

Hi, there. I have a s8(sm-g950fd) and i think i flashed the wrong rom. I've luck booting into the flashed rom but before it boots it says "#fail to open recovery_cause( no such file or directory)#., #reboot recovery cause is [unknown]. Can you help me out please? I already tripped knox.

I wanted your help for something, these days I went to install a GSI by fastboot, and at the time I went to apply the fastboot flash system command< instead of apparenting that it doesn't have space it says it doesn't have file or directory, what command can I use to solve this?

Also, if you're navigating to another directory you have to make sure there's no space in the directory. For example, other_folder/twrp instead of other folder/twrp

Thanks dude!!! Im 100% sure i typed in the correct line, but still wont work. Drag & drop solved the problem, the line looks exactly like when i typed it in, i have no idea why it doesnt work first. fastboot boot twrp.img is typically the command but some devices don't allow for temporarily booting into TWRP. but this is the command you use when the device supports it

this can sometimes happen when you have adb installed in more than one location. and you're trying to run it from another location in a command prompt/powershell, try running the following command. . . adb version and make sure the file paths match up to where your file is

Ima be honest i understood very little of what you said but i got that you need the adb and what not in a certain folder i had everything in the exact folder like the tutorial i was following but he didnt show the adb tools part just said download this and install and i just looked up a vid and did it anyways , that was my problem i had to move that into, with the rest adb fastboot boot.img file , man my head hurts i knew i did everything right i couldn't find out what was going wrong, thank you for helping😅

A lil extra that i didnt include ,i was trying everything i was installed drivers i even went as far as checking what letter my boot disk was 😂 all i had to do was move a folder smfh

LOL! My problem was that I didn't show fileformats so I had namned it twrp.img.img .... such a rookie mistake haha... Glad I can get the latest twrp for my Xperia Z2now and run ANdroid 10 on that 2014 phone! :D THANK YOU!
