Google Pixel 6 Revisited: A Turning Point

I recently switched to the iPhone 15 Pro from the Pixel 6 because I was constantly having issues with my mobile network. But I gotta say, Pixel 6 is still such an awesome phone even in 2023. While iPhone and iOS are great, the whole Pixel experience is just second to none. What Google did to the OS is simply amazing, even better than iOS

I had the same experience but the other way around. Had the 13 pro but the Pixel 6 was so much better OS wise, its what made me switch completely to Android. I upgraded to the 7 but the hardware problems really started to creep up and sadly now I'm on the S23+.

Same here, switching from Pixel 6 to iPhone 15 Pro. Even though the Pixel 6 is a 2 years ago phone, I can still find many merits that are comparable to or even better than the 15pro😂

@@jcbenju it’s not the hardware which I have had tons of issue with Pixel 6. The software on Pixel though is very intuitive. I can do a lot more with Pixel and in fewer taps as compared to iOS. I can even enable a number row on my keyboard, which I think is not possible on iOS

I'm a very heavy user so I generally need to recharge around 6 PM after starting at 8AM. It is similar to most phones I've owned. I have not had any overheating issues.

I have been using 6pro for 2 years, wanted to upgrade to 7 pro but it wasn't anything huge and from what I'm seeing about the 8 series nothing really exciting except for the Ai part. So, decided to keep it until pixel 9 series. The heating issue has been resolved and the network is also good now.

Still rocking the pixel 6 pro since 12/21 and I've got to say it's an excellent phone. I never had any of the connectivity issues (solely run mine in LTE) or battery. Honestly, this phone restored my faith that Google can make a great flagship. Looking forward to seeing the 8 pro but not pressed. Good video!

Just bought a Pixel 6 Pro. It is, bar none, the best smartphone I've ever owned. Went twelve years as an Android guy, switched to iPhone for two years and now went back to Android via Pixel 6. They took all the best from iPhone and Android and created this flagship phone. Absolutely love it. The fingerprint reader issues, weak network and bugs have all been fixed.

Android 14 greatly improved the fingerprint sensor. Never fail me since i updated it.

The biggest issues I had with the pixel 6 was overheating and some of the annoying software bugs and glitches. Could’ve been brighter and the speakers could be louder but overall it was a great phone. Battery life was always really good for me and I never had an issue with connectivity. I only got rid of it because the lack of brightness and the less than great speaker sound. I owned it a few times though and over the course of time Google did manage to resolve the overheating issue and most of the bugs that plagued it. Though I think before I got a pixel 6 again I’d suggest the 6a because it had much louder speakers and will get an additional year of support. And by the time the 6a came out Google had mostly figured out the Tensor chip and optimizing it a little better. On top of that, you can pick up a 6a for about the same new as you can for a used pixel 6. Either way though, I wish Google had stuck with the two toned design as I felt like the 6 series stood out more than the 7 or 8 series. The 6 was the start of Google evolving into a more premium and recognizable identity for Pixel devices.

Absolutely LOVE my Pixel 6 Pro! I have almost zero complaints using it in tandem with my iPhone 14 Pro Max and it doesn't feel outdated whatsoever. Also an unbelievably good deal at a consistent $250 or so Refurbished on Amazon. This is where I got mine and I don't think you're going to get a better phone for the money.

I had eSIM issues on the P6 Pro. Got the device replaced and the issue followed. I ended up returning it.

I just got a used one from eBay for pretty cheap. Going to use it as a back up phone while my S22 Ultra is being repaired. Gotta say it's looking like a solid phone. My first pixel so I'll see how I like it.

I'm a genskipper. 1,3,5...and then 6. The new design alone was too much to ignore. And seeing what the 8 will have to offer, the old habit may resume. But if it does, it will not be without loads of reluctance as I have been more than please with the 6 pro since day one.

I just returned a pixel 6 due to eyestrain and pressure in my frontal lobe not to all OLEDs bug me. Im fine with the Samsung A51, Pixel 4 XL and Note 10+ using eye comfort setting. Anyway too bad because its great hardware and for 165 refurbished a good deal.

I still have the Pixel 6 and to me the price point is well as the size of the pixel 6 was ideal now Google's following suit with all the other companies that they're flagship to mid-range phones are all going up in price and then the pixel series. The regular version seems like they're getting smaller than again, people do prefer smaller phones than bigger phones. So to me, pixel 6 was a steal at 599 versus what now the regular pixel 8 is close to what 700 and the pixel 8 pros a thousand

I've gotta say I hate this phone. I have one, admittedly a refurb, and am constantly having to restart to reset the fingerprint reader which is the worst I have known on any phone I've had. I can't tell you how many times I've had to reet my bank details. Also, the ring volume is pathetic. When my contract is up, I will be ditching mine just as soon as I can. It pains me to say but my previous Hauwei was heaps better.

Bluetooth was a huge issue on the pixel 6. For something being around for so long they've really screwed that part of the phone up and it took until Android 13 to fix 95% of the issues.

Tensor G3 is still weak tho It barely keep up with 8gen1 in raw performance let alone the aging 8+ gen1😂 Hopefully G4 amps on efficiency and hv way better gpu performance That AI features are not that groundbreaking

I have the Pixel 6 Pro, overall I like it. The only issues I have is that battery charging is slow and I have connection issues many times. Also calling doesn't seem to be good, other people sometimes can't hear me very clear.

Longtime fan of pixel "vanilla" software, but the Pixel 6 Pro kind of put me over the edge due to it's issues. Of course, not everybody had the problems, but after having it for 2 years and still having issues with basic functionality...is unacceptable. I had the Samsung Note 8 before my P6P, which was a workhorse and performed great, but I always found myself trying to make it look and act like a Pixel phone since I owned a Nexus before that. Plus, I just wasn't a fan of One UI at the time. After 2 years with my Pixel 6 Pro, I jumped back to the Samsung side (Flip 5), and must say that One UI has improved vastly over the years. The fact that Google released the Pixel 6 at the time it did, really rubbed me the wrong way. Google knew it had problems, and was going to have problems, but released it anyway. Again, not acceptable. I understand the business viewpoint, but nonetheless, they lost me as a consumer. I'll still keep up with the Google Pixel news and who knows, maybe one day I'll give them another try, but until then...Samsung it is, which has been great thus far.

the screen isn't bright and the speakers are hella quiet and the battery life is trash. I have this phone. Translation there is nothing good about this phone other than the camera (supposedly). My camera never focuses so it sucks also
