I love this phone, my only complaint is the missing headphones plug in. The stereo in my car is not a Bluetooth so I use a plug from my phone to the stereo. Not a deal breaker but would be nice if they kept the plug in jack in place. Aside from that I have no other problems with it. Yeah its insanely expensive but it's worth it to me. I replaced my old A10E with this.

I have purchased the S-20 Plus phone and have had it now for about two months and love it so far. This phone is an upgrade from a Motorola phone I purchased over 7 years ago and this one has more features and I hope it will last me for as long as the last one I had and give me service as good as the last one. My phones are used primarily for calling and receiving calls, and to get on the internet for so many minutes and occasionally to map my route to a certain destination and back home. The camera feature is one thing I don't use since I have two good cameras to take video clips and photos with.

I've been using the exynos s20 ultra and although I know it's not as good as snapdragon 865 it has improved A LOT in terms of battery life and camera performance thanks to software updates.

I have the S20 +. This is my first Samsung smart phone product from them. I've had it for "ONE" week. This is what I have encountered. Battery life. No where near what is advertised. I've disabled and removed ,if able, all apps to help improve longevity. I would like to "backup" the completed system on a local drive. Haven't seen any installed app to make this happen. Backing up into a cloud doesn't work for me. I installed my own ringtones and notification sounds. The installed sounds are too few to choose from. I like the screen performance and very quick connections to my local network and Bluetooth devices. I really like your weather app on your home screen. Could you let us know where it may be downloaded from ? thanks

The weather app is called Appy Weather I believe. And I think you may just have a defective device, my S20+ gets the full advertised battery life and im ALWAYS using it on max settings and performance. There is also no way to backup an android device to a physical medium that Im aware of, your only option is through Google Drive which should be automatically doing it in the background every day (Drive -> hamburger menu -> backups)

There is no phone that is going to please everyone. People were crying for years to have a under display fingerprint reader, Samsung does it, people complain about it. People will always find something they don’t like. Maybe they should start taking custom orders where you can build your own smartphone like a PC. With the security patches, I think that Samsung would actually test said patch before they release it. They're not like Apple or what Microsoft USED to be that just push out patches for the sake of it only to find out after the fact that it broke something critical. Also with the fingerprint scanner, as other KZbinrs have pointed out before, register the same finger you plan on using more than once, with subsequent registrations varying the placement of said finger.

My three issues with current Samsung phones. 1. No real-time network speed display (minor problem) 2. No schedule power on and off the phone. 3. Alarm clock will only work when the phone is turn on. For 2. and 3., from what I heard, only the Chinese OEM still kept these features unlike the global version.

Just got mine for around $650. The camera is very inconsistent. It can be amazing in one shot and poop in the other. The curved edge is still slightly annoying but nothing that will bother too much. The camera bump has never bothered me b4, u reaching in this video lol. it collects dust tho. But this is the fastest phone I've used android or apple. I can jump from pubg to cod to asphalt 9 and it never lags, keep them in the background and jump back to them and it's like I never left. I expected the battery to be better tho. Btw when u get it you'll have to do like 10 software updates. It's not a loop lol

I'm paying about 25$ per month over two years with my contract. I keep my phones for as long as I can, or about 5 years. I just came to a 20+ from an S6, to give you an idea. I get my worth out of them and this is a great value to performance ratio IMO. Amortized over my intended period of use will look like10$ a month. Even if I keep it for less time, I'd still be happy with the bottom line.

Potential buyers with special interest in the performance of the cameras on this phone should understand the actual optical zoom is 1.08 so the focal length of the actual lens is basically the same as the non-zoom camera. This is unlike say the S10 5G which the actual lens of the camera is 2X. However Samsung makes up for this by using a 64MP sensor. This basically results in as good or better zoom shots up to about 5X zoom than a phone with a tele-camera with a 2X or 3X optical zoom lens but only a 12MP or 16MP sensor. But to say the phone uses digital zoom above 3X is incorrect, it is ALWAYS using digital zoom on the telephone camera. The reason why it performs well can be explained by considering number of sensor pixels used decreases by the zoom factor squared when using digital zoom. So, the lowest zoom of the tele lens on the S20+ at 3X is essentially a 7MP sensor. 3 squared is 9. 64MP divided by 9 is 7.1MP. (You may be wondering, if you are always cropping the sensor than what's the point? The 64MP sensor is primarily to provide 8K video recording capability.) Compared to say the S10 5G which has a 2X optical zoom and 12MP sensor. So a 3X zoom for the S10 5G is a 1.5X digital zoom of the 2X optical. 1.5 squared = 2.25. 12MP/2.25 = 5.3MP. So you can see how the S20+ can keep up with other cameras with 2X or 3X optical zoom but only 12MP sensors. It's notable though that with 2X zoom, a camera with a 12MP sensor and a 2X optical zoom has a higher resolution image than the S20+ at 2X zoom since the S20+ doesn't have an optical zoom lens. What's more interesting is the 64MP sensor on the S20+ has a 0.8um pixel pitch which means the sensor is roughly 9,500 pixels by 7,150. So at 3X zoom the sensor output is going to be digitally cropped to around 3,160 x 2,380. However no matter what zoom resolution you use, Samsung outputs a 4032x3024 size image, basically "faking" the resolution for all images taken at anything over 1X zoom. The file size goes down as the zoom goes up even though the image resolution stays at 4032x3024 because the JPEG compression algorithm basically can see it's a fake resolution (essentially a lower resolution source image interpolated up to a higher resolution.) I'm not sure why manufacturers do this except for only from a customer satisfaction perspective as people would be complaining why their 10X zoom images are only 950 x 715 pixels. Yes, S20+ users, that is roughly the true resolution of a 10X zoom image from your phone. But consider on a 12MP sensor with 1X optical lens, that true cropped resolution is closer to 400x300! The bottom line is the S20+ Tele Camera is basically equivalent in resolution to a phone with a 12MP camera with a 2.5X optical zoom because it's not actually an optical zoom lens. So Samsung's advertising it as a 3X "hybrid optic zoom" isn't a total lie, but 2.5x would be closer to accurate as far as the equivalent of an optical zoom on a 12MP sensor. To get the best images on this camera you just want to use one of the 3 cameras without manually zooming in. If you do zoom in on the tele camera, try to not go above 5X.

Don't agree with the price as going by MSRP is not a good way to justify the price. We all know that they kept the MSRP high as their competition, mostly iPhone 11 Pro series. In reality, they are always available at far cheaper price even now. Microsoft store, Amazon and other sites regularly offering sales where it is available below $1k mark. Also, they offer pretty solid exchange values.
