I've had the OnePlus 13 since release and it's been a great phone. Everything in this video is spot on. The battery life and smooth operations of this phone is what has me hooked. Hell, I had almost 11 hours of screen on time one day and still had 20% battery left! I'm not much of a picture taking person but the few I have taken are good enough for me. I've even noticed my cell reception has improved (T-Mobile network). There are 3 dead/drop areas for me on my commute to work and I haven't dropped 1 call since using this phone, which is wild to me because I've been driving the same route for well on 10 years now.

Charging speed is a true differentiator between the two. We get the 80W SuperVOOC charger in the box in North America, which is awesome, but I also found that we're getting the SuperVOOC speeds out of 3rd party 100W GaN chargers too! The other night I put my OP13 on to charge at 47% while watching a 16 minute KZbin video ... and it was at 87% by the time the video ended. I used to think 45W charging wasn't bad ... but I'm not sure I could go back now. I do wish I had one of those gizmos to tell me if it was actually pulling the full 100W of charging that the power brick can provide though. It certainly felt like it! I did enjoy the software on the Pixel 7 Pro I had before the S24 Ultra last year, but always felt the hardware was lacking - and the charging speed was almost unacceptable. God help you if you needed a quick top-up. It wasn't possible. The call screening for spam/robocalls was awesome though. Overall, I just wasn't as impressed by the whole package as I hoped I would be. The cameras were very reliable for quick point and shoot snaps though, no fault there. The OnePlus definitely comes across as more of an enthusiast phone, where the Pixels are aimed more at an iPhone audience. And that's okay. That's the beauty of Android and having choices in the market. The OP13 brings back the things I loved in the OP3, just a lot better.

I prefer the more realistic look of the Pixel's photos as opposed to OnePlus' more saturated colours but that's where my preferences end for the Pixel. I prefer the less rounded corners on the OnePlus and if I'm spending over $500 for a phone I need super fast charging, which the Pixel doesn't provide but the OnePlus does. I also prefer the look of the OnePlus although the Pixel is a stunner itself, especially in black. I can't wait to get my OP13 this weekend. Getting it in black as well.

It would be really hard to pick one. One of the best phones I've ever owned was a OnePlus 7. Currently, I have a Pixel 9 Pro and Samsung S24 Ultra, and to be honest, it's a hard choice. I love the Pixel for its software and camera, the Samsung for multitasking, but the OnePlus is a beast in performance, and the battery will never disappoint.
@dennisvandepol593812 күн бұрын
Nice comparison price wise, but for me personally it's a clear win for OnePlus because due to the price it gets to be compared with the entry level pixel. Spec wise it should be compared with the pro xl and auw, that hurts.. Yes, on some points the Pixel is better but the differences are so small. And yes, while the experience on the Pixel is top notch. The cpu stil under performs on paper. While that doesn't effect the experience in most cases it should mean that its cheaper. Less hardware, lower price. But that's my personal opinion. After some Pixels i went back to OnePlus with the 13 and i have zero regrets.

The problem with pixel 9 isn't how it will perform now, it's how will this hold up 3 years later, also if I were yo buy pixel I won't buy it at full launch price.

These phones cannot be compared. You can compare OP13 and Pixel 9 pro if you want, but not the regular Pixel 9.

One Plus 13 seems so much better overall, but I`ll still prefer Pixel 9 because it`s MUCH more stable and efficient in every aspect and software is times better than any other phone.
@ch33zpuff12 күн бұрын
I've owned and used both devices and they simply arent comparable apart from both being android devices released this past year. Oneplus 13 is 50% more expensive and has a different camera setup, among other large differences in battery, SoC etc. You say that we shouldn't simply compare the specs, but if you just use a phone to send texts or browse twitter, any modern phone will give you the same experience. Oxygen OS feels way more fluid to me while Pixel OS just feels boring currently and this is coming from someone who's dailied multiple Pixel and Nexus devices over the past decade. There are plenty of useful Pixel software features that I love, but these two devices just aren't in the same ballpark for me or most people I'd reckon.

I think the same, is a very difficult decision to make, between this two incredible phones, I had the OP5 and I loved it, then I think they got lost in the next models, that made me switch to the dark side of samsung (also one plus has no official sales in Panama), but now I think they have been making good improvements and very good job with recent products, and also google with the pixel lineup, difficult, very difficult
@Unconvenshaunal12 күн бұрын
I have a pixel 9 pro but that’s only because I got an amazing deal on it through my carrier. The processor doesn’t justify the price. You can argue that the software is optimized until you’re blue in the face but if I’m looking at it from a value perspective, the pixel would not be a consideration. Not to mention my Netflix app just stopped working.

I'm shocked, oneplus is a flat screen and qi2 charging away from me buying it over a 2025 3 year old samsung camera or Pixel. I just can't see myself wanting a phone with a search bar tacked onto the button, or the old at a glance widget I don't want. its like oh cool, what's the point of a third party launcher after android broke all of them? Why make the search widget permanent, its not like the 5% US market share searching on their phone would choose anything else lol.

One aspect nobody's talking about is the customer service. How is it with those expensive chinese phones? My wife droped her pixel 7 flat on screen it would not work anymore (it was not broken). Contacted Google and they took a week to get it fixed at no charge here in France. If this happen with your chinese phone good luck.

Pixel 9 is easily spanked by the OnePlus 13 aside from the camera tuning. One Plus 13 is meant to compete with the big bros like the Pixel 9 Pro while having a lower price than those top of the (price)line flagships

Traded my S24Ultra for the P9Pxl and have 0 regrets. I love what it does in my day to day life. The stuff I use a phone for each and every day, the Pixel is flat out amazing at. Comparing the One Plus 13 to the regular pixel 9.. Wow. I'll happily keep my Pixel all of 2025 unless there's an amazing trade in deal for a pixel 10. Great video bud

I have the 13 and my better half has the Pixel 9 (peony color). I definitely paid more for her phone, but it does what she loves and that is what matters. My 13 deftly handles everything I throw at it (much like my beloved Note 20 before it). Definitely a TRUE flagship (moreso if I accidentally wash it in the dishwasher 😅).

Nah, OnePlus is buggy. I had bought a OnePlus 8T for my wife and it lasted pretty well for a year and a half until it started rebooting by itself and then just completely died with no way to recover the info on the phone. We both have pixels now and never changing to another phone hahah

A bought a OnePlus 13 and ultimately returned it. The package as a phone is great, but man the camera was a mixed bag and terrible in low light. In good light a lot of the pictures are overly processed and look painterly. Alost every picture was worse than my aging Pixel 6 pro, apart from maybe the portrait mode which was suprisingly good. I wish reviewers would try taking photos indoors of other people and moving pets, as this is what most people take pictures of. Not outside on a cruise in amazing sunlight.

I go the pixel way every time. There is no phone more intelligent. You gotta be deep in tech to understand what I'm saying. No phone is executing like pixels

Ryan, you've once again skipped covering the front facing camera VIDEO performance during nighttime. On Pixels it's a pure nightmare, a literal noise waterfall! As a tech enthusiast and reviewer, you should've cover the aspect that you don't like, but must point out for Google to fix them. At least people would've knew that BEFORE buying the phone. Many folks even had to return their Pixels after they found out about this issue that no reviewer is talking about.
