As someone with family who's actually traveled to and lived in Dubai, I actually agree that discrimination is mostly based off of classism. The Black women on the show have money and/or well-off so ofc they are 'treated like royalty'. Because there are working/lower class Black people who live in Dubai for work reasons and get treated differently. My understanding is that racism plays a factor, unsurprisingly so, in Dubai but the overt discrimination fades the higher up in success/wealth a Black person is.

The whole " royalty" comment CB made was ridiculous. If you have the money you're going to more than likely be treated well in most places around the world. Putting that false narrative out there is dangerous. Lesa and Ayan definitely can hold their own against these ladies. I do feel though there is a level of fakeness among the women as a whole. I do like Sara, but seeing her recent interviews and hearing that she was going to call the cops on Ayan over some comment she made that was purely an observation and her opinion, makes me look at her a little differently. Nina needs to step it up because she is boring. She gives friend vibes. Brooks is trying to be a main character but is giving secondary character vibes, Wants to be the "IT girl" but is failing miserably. Also, I thought brooks said that her salon will be opened in " 28 days" and will being doing a soft launch with influencers. But she also said that it is open and running too and she is currently looking for or just found their second location. Seems like she not being completely honest and just is saying things to make it seem like she has a lot going on. I want to like her, but she seems sneaky and is kissing up to the wrong people. I would prefer her be neutral vs going with whatever the wind blows. CS just seems miserable she seems like she could care less about being on the show. But hearing her describe what her Husband does for a living seems kinda sus. It doesn't seem like he has a real job, so it makes sense why he is trying to insert himself into the group more than the other husbands. Gotta keep that check coming in. Next season they probably will bring in another housewives and start having friends of the show. But I can see the women ganging up to try to take down Ayan and lesa, especially Ayan since she is the breakout star. ( she like a Nene) she will go far and I can see the other women being envious of that.

I’ve lived in dubai for 7yrs. I hold my husbands hand and we peck in the cheek from time to time no body cares. I’ve seen local Emirati couples doing the same I’ve seen men holding hands. Modest dress code is the law but in the malls people wearing tiny shorts and bare shoulders no one says anything. Maybe people will stare or the odd time it will be a Problem if you run into the wrong person. I’ve seen drunk people out on the streets which is also illegal. The police will not run upto you and arrest you for any small thing. Mostly if anything security might approach discreetly and ask you to cover up or not to do something. The people here are pretty tolerant of the different cultures and behaviors.

Hold on a minute, I am emirati I love my country so much. But the thing she said, about how black people are treated like royalty is weird to me. Don’t get me wrong I hope it’s true, but I have a darker skin than your regular Emirati or Arab girl and i have faced a lot of colorism socially. I am not speaking about government or police, I am talking about social behaviors, bullying, diminishing…etc. Actually, this is one of the reasons my government put a law against racist and colorist remarks, now sadly it’s not always a clear proof because usually it’s like offensive remarks in a passive aggressive way so you can’t always go to court for it there is no tangible proof. And also if I did that for every case I would have around a 500 case 🤣 . I love the fact that if I go to the government with a tangible proof, I will definitely receive support. But the people here with their colorism (especially from all arabs including Emiratis need a rude wake up call). But anyway my point is I found it very weird she said she is treated like royalty, while i’ve been called names just for being darker local arab girl.
