The Bee Gees sang this song as a tribute to Andy in their "One Night Only" Las Vegas concert. A slide show was going on in the back. When the second verse started they played Andy singing this song. It was very beautiful.

This performance was from 1978 so Andy was 20 or 21 years old. Unbelievable talent and potential. Remembering him as March 5, 2023 would be his 65th birthday had he lived. One of the great injustices of our time is that three of these brothers left us far too early. RIP Andy, Maurice and Robin. They are not forgotten.

I was born in 67 and Andy was my first idol. I have loved the Bee Gees since I was 6 years old because my brother had LP's of them. Then I heard Andy and I soaked up everything from him. I still have his records and listen to them regularly. I think of him very often and will never forget him. It's nice that there are people who appreciate his skills today. One quite sad fact: the brothers passed away in the opposite way as they were born. Andy was born last, but died first. Maurice was the born as fourth child (30 minutes after Robin) but died second in 2003. Robin was born as the middle child and died as the middle sibling in 2012. ****Another sad fact: their mother witnessed all their deaths. She passed away in 2016, aged 95**** And as you know, Barry's still very much alive. As you already may have noticed: yes, there are five children. There is a sister named Lesley. She's the first born of the Gibb siblings. She's also still alive.

When Andy was a teenager in Australia he fronted a progressive rock band called “Zenda.” He was a terrific songwriter. My fave of his is “Starlight.” He wrote a bunch of great songs, and was the equal of his brothers comparing them in their mid-late teens, before fame and cocaine and alcohol got hold of him. The parents of The Bee Gees and Andy were very talented musically - their father Hugh (a drummer...) had his own Big Band, their mother Barbara was a vocalist in another band. (Their big sister Leslie is also musically talented.)

Barry has said that even though there was a big age difference of 12 years between him and Andy that him and Andy were the most like twins themselves. They looked alike and they sounded alike & were very close, his death hit them all really hard. ♥️😢

Barry wrote this song with blue Weaver (his key board player), the brothers sang backup and Barry produced. He looks so much and sounds so much like Barry, but more delicate . He does falsetto too. Him and Barry are 12 years apart but they even had the same birth marks, liked the same things ( tennis , for example). Andy always looked up to Barry & wanted to be just like him. Barry was crushed when he died.

Andy Gibb was amazing and so talented just like his brothers The Bee Gees! I was 17 and 3 weeks from graduating high school when Andy passed! He had 3 # 1’s back to back! Andy, was my first concert at the Michigan State Fair. Me and my friends were right in the front we were 13 years old. When he sings the song, he can do it with such feelings, incredible that way. His body movements one singing any of his songs, is just incredible. The same year I became addicted to the Bee Gees. I've been listening for 45 years, continuously everyday to their their music. My sister passed away 8 yrs ago.. stunningly at 51 yrs old.. but we had great harmonies together.. she was lead i just followed.. but the Gibbs.. wow.. Barry.. obviously the oldest.. is still amazing.. he's lost all his younger brothers.. I can't imagine what he goes through every day.. but Andy..my teen idol.. sounded just like Barry... I remember sitting in my living room playing with my 4 year old daughter. The TV was on in the background. A news break came on and the man said that Andy had died just 5 days after his 30th birthday. I loved Andy. I started crying for his family and for his daughter who was almost 10 I believe. And I cried for the world. He had so much more music to share with us. Andy looked and sounded so much like Barry. Losing Andy nearly broke Barry.

Lost way too soon. On the way to the hospital in the ambulance he asked his mother “you can’t die from this right, Mum”? He obviously didn’t realize that his cocaine abuse could kill him. So very, very sad. I remember exactly where I was when I heard of his passing.

i read this that spencer ( 15 at the time ) said the song was overwhelmingly difficult for them to sing he said that my dad came home and played the demo of the song to him and that it was absolutely heartbreaking . spencer burst in to tears and robin choked up anyway cut a long story short spencer said nothing will ever touch that demo . barry was doing those falsetto ad lips at the end of the song and his voice is breaking up like he cant hold it together . he then went on to say its beautifully produced and i couldnt agree more .. there is a lot more he said about it but i thought i would only put a little bit

They also have a big sister, Lesley, the oldest of the whole bunch, who I would guess could have been as talented as they were if she had wanted to be, but she hated the spotlight. She filled in for Robin on a couple of gigs Barry and Maurice did in that year and a half in 1968-1969 when Robin left the group, and she hated it. She didn't like being onstage, all that attention, and the lights and cameras in her face. She said she was so scared and nervous, she just kept wishing Robin would just come walking out on stage and save her. She still lives in Australia and runs a dog boarding business, has 8 kids, probably tons of grandkids by now, and is very happy.

This was sang to a recorded track because you can hear the falsetto in the background and there’s no orchestra that I can see. You hear a definite difference from the other Andy you did that was with his own band. Wasn’t quite a BeeGees-like. They all have that falsetto though.
