I agree 100%. What passes for comedy now isn't funny in the least. But when Goober made that face like Edward G. Robinson I couldn't help but cracking up. I'm still wondering if Goober was actually imitating Edward G. Robinson or trying to look like a catfish...LOL.

Every time I hear Jerry Judy's (Denver Broncos) name, I think of this segment from Andy, w/ Gomer & Goober. Watching Broncos v Vikings game the announcer hit us with a "Judy Judy Judy" remark and I had to look it up. Fell right here into a "Barrel of Laughs". F.A.F. (LOL w/ a "twist)

I always liked Gomer, Andy, and Goober. I think Jim Nabors, Andy Griffith, and George Lindsey were excellent. I've always felt Lindsey was very believable as a mechanic; there are so many interesting details to Goober, and Gomer Pyle was so wonderfully naive.
