To everyone who has a problem with this video or Christian rap in general, let me tell you something. Rappers who are Christians are - 1. Putting food on the table for their loved ones with what they do. - 2. This type of rap is not really for some devout 10 year members of the church who wanna point fingers , it’s for people who are looking to or have begun their journey to walk with Christ. From milk to meat, this music helps new christians with the transition, making it easier as they can relate to it. REACH records is all about reaching those who know not the Lord by sharing their stories and past experiences with us all and it in fact does save souls as I myself have in fact gave my life to Christ years ago while listening to their music in my car , you personally know not the totality of believers that have been added to the church as a direct result of this style of music. God is using people from all walks of life. So whoever has a problem with this should focus on what they themselves* plan to do to reach people in the hood. Otherwise, keep silent. Any scripture you want to use to condemn, just make sure that there are no scriptures you can be held accountable , if you believe you are sinless. Lastly, true brotherly love prays for their brothers, no finger pointing.

I love the references to old hip-hop albums! One of my reasons for him being my fav Christian rap artist is that he still draws inspiration from secular rappers, though he is a Christian artist. Like, he knows where to draw the line, where he can mention famous hip hop albums in his music video but still glorify God with the music. It's pretty cool for me cause I listen to both secular and Christian rap, so I get the hip hop references and I get the Christian message.

@@leonthejokester5208 my point is this: in this particular song and video they are in a light-hearted way paying homage to the music that shaped them as they were growing up. Here’s the reality: without classic hiphop you don’t have a Lecrae or Andy Mineo. They fell in love with hiphop way before they fell in love with Jesus - now they’ve built careers trying to redeem hiphop and call people into a relationship with Jesus! The challenge as a growing artist: you can’t put out the same record twice. Lecrae already made Rebel and Andy already made Heroes for Sale. They are pressing on in their own journey and moving the story forward with each new project. Lecrae even talks about this in his song “non-fiction” …so, you gotta really pay attention to understand the moves they are making (and allow room for human failure) - they aren’t perfect - who among us is? That’s why we all need Christ! But, as artist, they are always creating. There is art FOR the church and art FROM the church. They have done both! This is creative evangelism - you can’t put the Roman Road in every single song that you do and be authentic as an artist. They write the songs they wanna write and maybe it helps someone or maybe it doesn’t? Not all people are gonna like your jokes, so what do you do - write more! These guys have done an infinite amount of interviews through the years to make clear that they love Jesus and they love hiphop. Do you only listen to Christian-comedians? Or do you like folks like Eddie Murphy, Dave Chapelle, Chris Rock, Kevin Hart, etc.???

I like to listen to Andy and Lecrae when I'm at the gym, or doing something intense and I need some hype music. But this music doesn't usually make me think about Jesus Christ. I am mature enough in my Christian walk to know when to listen to this and when not to. But I think for many new believers they might get confused by some of the secular references. But I also don't think we should be so quick to judge others. Instead we need the holy spirit to help us discern how to best live our own lives.

@ROARTHERAPPER Not only do I disagree wholeheartedly with that statement, but you are off topic. The topic is about this song. Why would I seek encouragement with this song that promotes secular artists that kept me in spiritual bondage? I'll give you another crack at it. 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
@THENARRATIVTestimonies2 жыл бұрын
@ROARTHERAPPER The music isn't honorable... period. It isn't glorifying God. Not an opinion, but a fact. It's not just my past "Personal struggles," the eyes and ears are a gateway to your soul. It goes way beyond me. The bible says "So a man thinks, so is he (Proverbs 23). If you listen to trash, you will think trash, and live like trash. Your eyes and ears are a gateway to your soul. Have you not read James 3? "Bitter and sweet water cant come from the same fountain." How can I listen to explicit wicked music and watch explicit and wicked movies and at the same time, be filled with the Holy Spirit and praise the Lord?

@@THENARRATIVTestimonies and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
