Excellent. I quit 18 months ago and never looked back. I prefer 'quit' than 'gave up' as if I say that it makes it sound like I've lost something. Good luck all, you won't regret it!

I just did dry January this year for 35 days and felt AMAZING! It really helped curb my "appitite" for alcohol. I don't crave it or feel that I "need" it anymore. I drank mocktails in fancy glasses to trick myself to get over the urges and it really helped! We also didn't go out to eat for the month and that helped too.

I just found you two tonight, and I've watched about 1000 of your videos!!! You are serious renaissance men!!! You are incredibly well-rounded young men!! I'm a therapist/counselor here in Dallas, TX, and I discuss giving up alcohol weekly/daily with my patients. My hubs and I gave up drinking several years ago to go into solidarity with a family member that became sober. We haven't missed alcohol one tiny bit! We became vegetarian/vegan many years ago, as well. I'm 64, and he's 77, and we love these awakenings in our lives. Thank you for ALL this beautiful content. Your parents did a fabulous job with you two!!! Rock on! xoxxo

Could not wait to go to the pub. Started when I was 15. Never a big drinker as when I started work at 17 I could only afford one night out a week. At 24 I had an epiphany and realised I did not like the effects of alcohol. Mostly made me sleepy. I got married at 19(still married) and hated when my husband drank too much. Also when I was 24 I found a kitten in the street. Love at first sight. The way I felt about that wee ball of fur chhanged me forever and I became a vegetarian. Very hard to do in the 70s.

Thank you for sharing this talk- it really resonates with me. I also drank socially. Decided it made me feel terrible and why was I doing that to myself. Ive been sober for over a year. A little isolating at first because everyone you met/surrounded yourself with drinks- and many are put off by sober people. I realized my life is not going to be on that wavelength anymore- and accepted Ill have to find new people that match what I am now- instead of drinking to fit into my old life to stay comfy and lowkey miserable.

I found OYNB about 3 years ago. I got spaces of time alcohol free over this time, but I couldn't stick to it until I started committing to actually working the 12 steps and participating in the program of AA. It's an amazing program. Andy really inspired me in the beginning though. As of yesterday I'm 90 days alcohol free and have been whole food, plant based for a couple of months as well. It's a winning combination!

Alcoholic 36 years female been trying to stop for so long but I'm done over the anxiety that plagues me and the hangovers just get worse. Alcohol is just a pretty packed poison at the end of the day ps don't pick up the first drink . It's amazing how alcohol is the most destructive drug out there and it's legal big money business. I don't wanna be a slave anymore ,i don't control alcohol, alcohol controls me one is too many and a 1000 is never enough Day 3 🙏

Non-alcoholic craft beer is a fast growing category in the beer world. I don't know about the UK, but I have a subscription to a brewer and their NA beer has started showing up in grocery stores and restaurants near me. I also tried some big name NA beers and St Pauli Girl was most excellent! After my cancer diagnosis I found I really missed beer and this has been a godsend. They really taste like good microbrewery craft beer (not truly great beer but definitely very good beer!) Amazing!

Hi guys. Love you for this video. I do think people have to see what alcohol does to ones body. I was married to a problem drinker for 37 years. Loved the sober man, not so much when the demon was home(in him). He passed away at 58, horrible death. Not once did any doctor ask him if he smoked, just, do you drink. If I had one wish in this fab life I have, it would be, that anyone who is struggling with the black rock in their gut, be that they could find their way into the lightness, out of the darkness. Love you both, and the young man beside you. I am so happy for you for giving up the poison. No one likes a drink more than myself, you just can't everything. Sherie Rodrigues from Australia. Thanks again. OMGOODNESS, I was just signing off, when I heard the most amazing bit off info, about the connection between breast cancer and alcohol. I am sorry I am unloading all this, I have tears. I dropped my friend off to a hospital in Brisbane yesterday, she was admitted at once, she had breast cancer diagnosed 3 years ago, big operation, she drinks every night, because she heard that red wine is good for you. I have mentioned about my belief what alcohol does, but to no avail. How confronting. Bye

I am sober for a few years. It saves a lot of money. 1st because of not having to buy wine or beer. But also: I don't need to go any more to the cinema. Because of all those clear dreams I get because of the good REM-sleeps.

OYNB is great with excellent videos merging philosophy, mindfulness and lots of other motivational tools. Well done Andy. Great motivation and enjoy the energy. I am also doing the Guinness zero at the moment in my "taking a break" as I am a total Guinness drinker. Advertising for Guinness is everywhere!!
