In multiple episodes I've watched people seem to downplay the fact that weed isn't just one plant. "I think its all the same and people just give it names". Its completely false. When a plant makes seeds, its not a complete genetic copy.. its like a litter of puppies. There are thousands of different phenotypes derived from the original cannabis landraces. Each strain has a different terpene profile, different cannabidnoids and different levels of THC's. Which creates a wife range affects. Both analgesic and psychoactive, as well as flavor and smell. When you order seeds from a specific strain, generally you will end up will multiple phenotypes. All generally the same within that strain, but with slightly varying smells, growth structure and general appearance. But you can still tell its all from the same genetics. Farmers typically "phase out" the inferior genetics of the strain and take clones to preserve tat specific phenotype. You guys should really spend $70 on the show and buy a simple ollo clip for someones iPhone in the studio. And before the show, get a good hires shot of the nug in good lighting, to show quickly while you mention that particular strain. Hearing about the strains is great. But for ANY weed enthusiast, seeing bugs is wonderful. My girlfriend still gets pissed at how much time looking at what she calls my "nug porn" (high times). Just an idea. I'll even donate one.

Also in reference to the names. Yes, some are silly and ridiculous. But the strain names are a way to categorize and keep tabs on genetics. If we didn't, apart from sending them to analytical labs or trying to remember to order strain "ZX67BL4" next time you're at a vendor, we simply wouldn't know what's what. All these people act too good for smoking and make fun of sites like leafly, but some people ACTUALLY use this for medicinal purposes and being able to have the effects of a strain listed on a website is super helpful. It just makes me sad that Doug is so uneducated when it comes to cannabis! Hosting a cannabis show when the most you know about it is what your staff writes on a card. Jeez. I'm fucking high rambling. This show needs to get its shit together. I love it but Jesus. Good god. I'm really good at rambling when I'm high. This is not a good thing. /rant
