Never heard Johnny sound so relaxed. Love this interview, shows their friendship has lasted through all the sh#t.

Andy is one seriously under-rated musician. Yeah JM and M wrote the songs, but his basslines were crucial. Not as crucial as Morrissey or Johnny's distinctive guitar but... he's delivered some unforgettable bass lines.

There lovely guys, two decent working class lads who just so happened to be in one of the greatest, most important and seminal bands to come out of Britain. Tell you one thing though, what I wouldn't do to just have a certain two more people enter this conversation...

Andy and Johnny never fell out. Andy and Mike did when Andy settled and Mike went to court and then, well, Mike doesn't talk to anyone sort from Andy now. Andys voice. Just say no kids.

I like to think JFM slipped Andy a £20 after the interview. It would go someway towards the £920,000 he owes him.

Before I am dead, I just want -- once more -- for Andy, Johnny and Steven to collaborate on new music. After that, everything else in life will be a bonus. And if Steven Street produced it, even better.

DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE ANDY QUOTE THE SMITHS ? TRIED AND THEY FAILED
@jamesgretsch48947 жыл бұрын
Thing is they were childhood friends so regardless of tension of the past or lawsuits they still have a past. They put a lot of the issues that arose from being in The Smiths together their friendship shows thru. Not sure how Mike Joyce fits in. If Marr and Joyce have reconciled. And if they had there still will be no The Smiths reunion. Morrissey and Marr now desire to reform.
@jimvim34974 жыл бұрын
The Fans would LOVE a Proper reunion. Yeah it's a long shot but who knows what the future may bring? I'm hopefull one day the BS will be behind them. Peta benefit or charity for manchester. Thanks for this interview. It's not about the money. Look at the stones. Come on guys esp Moz enough with the attitude. Stay well.

Why not a semi-reunion with a different singer? I know Moz would refuse but his voice isn't quite the same these days anyway. I'd definitely pay to see a female singer with Marr's one-of-a-kind playing. The Sandie Shaw collab when they were a new band was good - they could certainly do something like that.

Ridiculous. There is no Smiths without Morrissey. Neither without Marr. Andy and Mike can easily be replaced, singer and guitarist can't be. Don't mean to be rude but it's simply the truth.

Funny what Johnny said about a great frontman... because to me, Matt Johnson is the opposite of a great frontman. He's a decent songwriter, but... that's about it. Liam Gallagher is a great frontman. Morrissey is a great frontman....

Marr screwed Andy big time...with Morrissey...stole millions from him...and Johnny Marr has no voice.
