When Stott hits that vibe, no-one (and I mean NO-ONE) can touch him. The guy is shit-hot. A truly creative, innovative legend. Massive respect to the man.

For the amount of wank that surrounds his (excellent) music, he seems like a refreshingly humble dude.

You can't define what "that kind of behavior or fashion or lifestyle" actually is, nor will you ever be able to. That's because you don't use "hipster" to describe an actual group of people, nor even a behavior, but to describe a fictional stereotype that is an outlet for literally anything that annoys you.

It's my opinion, to be sure. Why don't you understand it? The people in the crowd in this video resemble those in my local music scene; I'm extrapolating the judgement and I feel it's pretty accurate. They never have a good time at shows, they just go, and rarely engage or do anything that would signify a dedication or involvement. They tend to be elitist as a sort of defense mechanism. Of course I'm generalizing here, but I feel it's a definite trend and I don't like it.

i am only comparing it to the punk rock after nobody cared for it....or after it became the "safety pins" to the its precursor. I am not saying there is anything wrong with coolness but it is inevitable that if it only concerns with fashion and what looks cool, the idea of punk rock which is experimenting with open minded would be closed, which is what actually happened, seeing some of the socalled punk rockers are the most closed minded people
@schellenberg112 жыл бұрын
That's a good point, actually.
@ed-od9sd12 жыл бұрын
hipsters are only into cool things....as soon as its not cool, its out of their interests...because of how things work, there is no longevity to it....much like what punk rock was in between the 80s and 90s...but thank GOD we have sonic youth...they pretty much saved the music we listen to nowadays

Meanwhile, a market myth has sprung up around the term, as well as a cultural bogeyman consisting of elusive white 20-somethings who wear certain clothes(but no one will agree on what), listen to certain music (no one can agree on this either), and act a certain way (you've probably sensed the pattern on your own).
