I don’t know if anyone will see this but I am confused by teaching out there that says there is a difference between the body of Christ and the Bride of Christ. Is this biblical and what criteria puts you in what category?

Yes, this is a heresy. At least the way it's presented in most cases. Basically this theory presents the Bride to be the purest part of the Body. Different versions are circulating, but some say the Bride is taken at the rapture, while the Body has to remain on earth to endure the wrath of the Lamb. The Bride is seen as more worthy to be raptured by believers of this theory. This is simply untrue. Because guess what? No one is worthy to begin with. Without His grace, no one would deserve heaven, rhe rapture or whatever reward. This is an artificial construction that is put into the text, not exegetically drawn from it. The Bride is a word picture that tells us about our relation to the Bridegroom. The Body is a word picture that puts more emphasis on our relationship with each other, while still being under the authority of Christ, the Head. Don't get these word pictures confused.
