In addition to more Soundgarden, you need to check out "Hunger Strike" by Temple of the Dog. They were a tribute band for the late Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone, consisting of Cornell, Eddie Vedder, and Wood's old band mates who would go on to form Pearl Jam with Vedder. They weren't a supergroup at the time they recorded, but they're definitely one in retrospect. Cornell's duet with Vedder ranks as one of the all time greatest vocal performances in rock.

I can't tell you, @Andy & Alex, how delighted I am with this reaction. Soundgarden was long overdue for a listen, and this track is just one of many exceptional songs of theirs (many have been mentioned in other comments). A full-album reaction of "Superunknown" would be more than appropriate ( though, truth be told, I'm still itching for a full-album reaction of Pearl Jam's "Ten" masterpiece). Cornell, as noted elsewhere, is indeed one of the top rock singers in history. His range and belt-ability are well-known, but as some have mentioned, the stripped-down, more emotional songs he released later in his career (such as his cover of Nothing Compares to U) cemented his legend and helped people realize he wasn't simply a screamer. He and I were born just a month apart, and as I'm from the Seattle area myself, I always felt a kinship with him. I'm still devastated by his premature loss, but I'm so glad that his music and voice live on.

They have a deep catalog to dive into. Being from Seattle, I’ll suggest Spoonman. Written about & featuring Artis the Spoonman who was a busker that played around the city in the 90’s.
