Saw them live this past Saturday and they performed this song. I just recently lost my dad and this song was on repeat for a week to help get me through it. After the show, I was able to thank Andy for performing this song and tell him what this song means to me. He gave me a huge hug. It’s a moment I’ll never forget.

I remember back when the EP came out, and listened to Mend for the first time. At the time, I felt a lot of sympathy for Jay, who lost a loved one. Years laters, it went from sympathy to empathy, after losing a loved one myself. Back in August of 2022, I received the news from my mom that my beloved cousin was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was expected live another year or two, but her conditioned worsened, and she passed away in November. She was the closest thing to a daughter to my mother, and likewise, the closest thing to a sister for my brother and I. While I had some loses prior, her passing was the one that hit me super hard. It's been 3 months since her funeral, but much like others in my family, still grieving for her. Mend has been a nice way to know that with more time and patience, my heart will heal, alongside others, which is why it's still my favorite from the Continuum EP. Thank you Andy, for writing some beautiful lyrics to a song that a lot of us needed.

A wise lesson that I learned through a spiritual enlightenment book is the saying "this too shall pass" and it applies equally to all good and bad things in life, the only reality is this very exact moment, everything in the past and thoughts of the future are all mine and ego involved traps, and the path to peace is accepting what is. This all has very deep meaning that is difficult to convey in few words, but if you are able to live in the present and embrace the now, you are bound to find the peace and happiness you might be missing. I am there with ya with the wife, soon to be ex, thing. But man I have found the best silver lining of my life through the process. If you are interested, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle is a strong recommendation for a read/audio book.

Now just rest your head You've been fighting for too long now Let go of regret Tears subsiding, there's just love now Can you still feel my touch? Heart is broken, words unspoken Let time stand still for us Keep me frozen in this moment Just like the summer breeze I feel you slip away from me Where you'll be free Away from the despair A place where you're no longer scared I'll meet you there Showed me who I am And through all the aches and pains You're still running through my veins But how am I supposed to find myself When the greatest part of me fades from my reality? Just like the summer breeze I feel you slip away from me Where you'll be free Away from the despair A place where you're no longer scared I'll meet you there My heart in your hands Just live through me, you'll always be And if this is the end My heart will mend, my heart will mend My heart in your hands Just live through me, you'll always be And if this is the end My heart will mend, my heart will mend
