I used to watch tl/dr so much back in the day. I can't believe I actually went down the anti sjw rabbit hole. I cringe so hard looking back. I never even thought of it as right wing or even political back then, I just fell into it from KZbin atheism. All of a sudden thunderfoot was complaining about feminism and not religion anymore. Those were weird times.

Do you remember as well how KZbin atheists were trying to frame feminism as being somehow akin to creationism? Even though feminism (much like evolutionary biology) is a well established academic field with a wealth of peer reviewed literature to show for itself, whereas anti feminism is just a bunch of people with KZbin channels, blogs, think tanks etc (like creationism).

@@CaptainAndy oh yes, absolutely. I was there right at the beginning. I totally fell for a lot of it too. Genuinely believing Anita Sarkisyan was akin to Kent Hovind. Had I been a little younger and more disenfranchised I really could have ended up completely brainwashed. I can see why it happens to so many people, having seen it in real life also.

@@revivedfears It does raise a lot of questions, such as how much do New Atheist types who profess to love science actually love science? To me it seems obvious that there was simply a few scientists such as Richard Dawkins who rose to prominence during the 2000s who had a certain charisma with these people. Seeing science used as a tool for putting people in their place and ridiculing them very much appealed to the bullies of the world. So phrases like "I fucking love science!" might better be interpreted as "I fucking love feeling superior!"

I’m certainly here if you ever do find yourself vlogging again. I’m particularly excited for any more Decon Comms videos. I feel very fortunate to have found your channel. I was quite ignorant to many of the horrors of the world until 2020. That year was eye opening to a blind fool like myself and since then, you have been one of the people who has helped me keep some kind of hope for humanity with how uncompromisingly compassionate and principled you seem to be. However, I do wish you well on your life outside of KZbin. Being plugged into this site can be a mental health drain I wouldn’t wish on anybody. I’m sure you’ll continue to be an inspiration whatever path you take in life.

Thank you very much. I will be uploading more stuff on both channels in the near future, but as you say, it can be a mental health drain, so it's important to maintain a healthy life offline.

Let's be honest Andy you can be a bit of a bigot yourself. That is being completely intolerant of people holding different opinions . I did agree with you on some things but its all or nothing with you and you can be completely self absorbed and not a little insufferable. Still it's good to see you are still around and in good health.
