Welcome return Andy. Another fabulous video, great choice of music. I travelled from Bucharest to Sibiu to do the Transfagarasan Highway a few years ago. Superb road, sadly I didn't see any bears, but it's well worth the effort. 90+ km of enjoyable experience. There's talk that it may have an extended opening from next year instead of the typical 2-3 months/year.
@AndyManCamАй бұрын
Thanks very much mate. Agreed, 90+ km of pure joy, with or without bears! Longer opening times might ease the traffic a bit, but surely they'll have to work way harder to clear it in time?! Could be a Toll charge coming to ride....

@@AndyManCam The Transfăgărășan certainly has it over most NZ roads - most of the country is boring A Class roads and some expressways. @@AndyManCam Drive for an hour from a major centre and then you can find the twisties for perhaps two days in series. So there are still some good roads to have. To bad the roads in a large part of Transfagarasan is so bad, we did it in september on a MT-07 and a VRF 800 and did really look forward to the Mountainroads but i was not a pleasure. but the views and wildlife was really nice tho. we were told that the Transalpina was alot better, so that must be next time, and is looking forward to see you video on that after this one :) But i would like to thank you for all the videos, we did a tour the southeast europe this august/september and used your videos as inspiration for a great part of it :)

Andy, have you had any issues with your Aprilia? Also how do you think the Tuono 660 compares to your tureag ? Especially on this trip
@AndyManCam12 күн бұрын
Not a single problem mate. The bike has been tremendous. I’ve never ridden the Tuono 660, so it’s hard to say. Though on paper it has more power, but it comes in much later so might be more of struggle on the super steep twisty bits compared to the Tuareg (Unless you keep the revs high the whole time). I can also speculate and say that i reckon it would be quite uncomfortable to do this trip on a Tuono. The roads were on the whole very rough indeed. The long travel ADV suspension of the Tuareg just ate it all up, but a small, taught, sporty road bike might struggle a bit to maintain its composure!
@davidmallia628Ай бұрын
I was wondering if the Aprilia Tuareg 660 has been reliable. I know it is a fun performer, but what about durability? Romania is one of the best motorcycle destinations in europe. I did both the Transalpina, and Transfagarasan. Epic!
@AndyManCamАй бұрын
I’ve had no troubles yet David. 15,000km on the bike so far, including a week of almost entirely off roading in Italy. Going strong! I did break the cruise control button off, but that was my clumsiness and it still works!
@davidmallia628Ай бұрын
@AndyManCam seriously considering this bike over the T7 which I find top heavy, and thus cumbersome, not to mention the Tuareg road superiority, comfort, and utility. Thanks for sharing your experiences, and insights. Many people appreciate that. Cheers, and happy bike days.

Hey there. At first it made me laugh because you go to Norway and have the best posible weather all the time and you come to eastern Europe and it rains pretty good. I said to myself is it even posible for you to have bad weather 😅. Anyway i found Transalpina to be more fun and pleasure to ride. They are both amazing to see once in a lifetime but hell no the best roads. Maybe one day when they make a new road surface...They cant be compared to alpine gems like Grossglockner,Timmelsjoch, Furka/Grimsel/Susten,Stelvio etc. I was in Romania in 2019 and 5 years later they did not changed anything 😢
@AndyManCamАй бұрын
Hey! Yeah the weather gods have been pretty good to me on the whole! I know what you mean about the road surface. I’m just so very glad that i had the bike i had, because it meant i could still enjoy the roads just as much as the smoother alpine passes. 👍🏻
