Nice! I'm 51 and I still have the Slingshot my Dad made for me when I was a kid. Many bottles gave there lives to that one.

Great video. I’m pushing 75 years, my grandad made sling shots for my brothers and me when we youngsters. We went in the woods and looked for dogwood trees. He claimed the made the best shooters. I don’t recall doing that much carving, just notches on both arms to accommodate the strips of inner tube. Then we went to the dump and spent the say breaking bottles, laughing and enjoying our new weapons.

I love these videos. It's so refreshing to just watch somebody work as opposed to having a flamboyant personality talk the whole time. I have been playing these videos while I'm at work. Although I usually have the video minimized while I'm working, I love hearing the tools working and the birds chirping. It's comforting and makes me feel better sitting at a desk for hours at a time. It motivates me to get back to my craft. The video are very well made and the content is very refreshing.

These are all I had as a kid. Hard part was finding an innertube. They were very precious. Nice to see you playing a bit Andy ! Thanks for the memories fella !

That’s an awesome looking slingshot. Looks better then the one I’ve made. Here’s a tip for shooting it though. Hold it sideways, with the forks horizontal. Then use your top fork to line up your shot. Kind of like a bow and arrow. It’s much more accurate than holding it vertical.

That's a huge slingshot, also you might want to tie the bands on with smaller strips of rubber so you can always replace them, cool vid tho

Nice. My people make these as a way to kill wild chickens for meat. Tie the rubber on the other side of the arms, though. Opposite side you have them tied now. It won't tend to pull away from the wood as you draw back that way.

As kids we made many a slingshot. All we used was a hand saw and whittling knife. Old bicycle inner tubes provided the rubber and a bit of shoe leather the cradle. To attach the rubber we would cut a saw kerf in the arms deep enough for the 1/2 wide rubber with knot in it and a bit of space at the top for twine to keep it taut and not slip back out. Some kids, depending I guess on whether or not their parents were racist, would call it a "&%^*$ shooter", if I ever called it that my mom or dad would have knocked me right to the ground.
