He's the comic of the fish world. He doesn't actually realise we like listening to him. He seems to flit about too much worrying we aren't enjoying it but actually we just want to see more "shut up waffling woods" is his catchphrase. We love it though. And that Dovi at the end was a beast!! 😮

Great to have you back Wolfie ! And you of course andy ! Lol. I’ve been following you and watching your videos for quite a long time now and can honestly say I never get bored of seeing your collection of beautiful cichlids , easily the best on KZbin, When you last posted about 5 months ago I mentioned in the comments that I love you’re rtm,s and I was trying to get a male to go with my female , but wasn’t having much success up here in Co Durham, they are not a common fish in any of the fish stores up here , but about 2 months ago I hit lucky and fish alive in Durham had two juvenile males that a customer had took in , so I bought the best one of the two, got him home and quarantined him for about 3 weeks then put him in with the female, he’s slightly smaller than she is and she gave him a bit of a beating, not the best start that I was hoping for ! Any way I now have them divided with a clear Perspex divider so they can see each other , at first they were trying to attack each other but they have calmed right down now and swim up to the divider and just look at each other , I’ve decided to try and get the male to put some size on and when he’s bigger than the female I’ll try them in together again but keeping a close eye on them for any aggression , fingers crossed I can get them to spawn, I’d love to rear some home bred fish. All the best Andy, looking forward to the festae update. Happy fish keeping. Ps. Sorry for waffling on ! Lol.

Nice looking fish Andy I have been watching your videos for a Few years now. I was wondering if a 180 gallon aquarium would work for a single male dovii?
@andywoodscichlids2942 Жыл бұрын
I don't like getting involved in this topic. Everyone has their own views. My pair are in a 7ft x 2.5ft x 2ft- 250 us gal. I now realise I should have gone bigger. Bigger is always going to be better. A 180 will do for a few years.

@@andywoodscichlids2942 hey let me ask you this. Whats to say you CANT keep large Central American cichlids in a tank by themself as small as say a 40 gl breeder tank? As long as the fish stay happy and healthy and in clean water even tho the swim room isn’t “Ideal”. I have 2 different fish but only 1 75 gallon tank and don’t have house space for anything bigger. But my fish are super healthy looking and seem happy but of course I wish I could get a bigger one.

As someone new to breeding, what's the ideal breeding situation. I am collecting different species and getting them from many different sources. Separating males and females and for breeding. But I see a lot of people buying groups that seem to be from the same parents. Is it worth it to source different fish to mix for breeding or just buy groups?

My favourite channel is back. I had an amazing last year, it would be close to perfect if you had posted more frequently :)) oh! And one suggestion, not that you need any, if the multifasciatus cichlid isn't working out, why not do a girls hostel with different female species of your collection one each, might workout as they're usually more docile. Your female dovii(with Botox) and the female multifasciatus are just stunning
