~ Audiobook Description ~
The first part of this book is meant to be a sieve to separate the chaff from the wheat. Use it on your own soul. It may be the most profitable and beneficial work you have ever done. He who looked into his accounts and found that his business was losing money was saved from bankruptcy. This may happen also to you. If, however, you discover that your heavenly business is prospering, it will be a great comfort to you. You cannot lose by honestly searching your own heart.
The second part of this book examines God’s promises to His children. The promises of God not only exceed all precedent, but they also exceed all imitation. No one has been able to compete with God in the language of liberality. The promises of God are as much above all other promises as the heavens are above the earth.

I grew up in a nominally Catholic home, with parents who were believers, and open to us kids attending other churches and learning the Bible. Listening to these classic Christian audiobooks helps me learn about the true Christian Life from a perspective totally different from the Catholic framework. It is very helpful, grounding -- and freeing! Alleluia!

Here in 2022.. I love how God the Holy Spirit sends me these anointed authors/ people. I say to tady at my church, "ever heard of Charles Spurgeon?". She's looks at me like, of course. Even in my bubble and under a rock, the Lord sends me things he knows I will love. Like free audiobooks from some of the most anointed writers that I've never heard of, of our time. Thanks Aneko Press. 👍 And thank you Lord. 🙏🏽 😊

"may The Lord Jesus be praised" with you two endorsing extra-biblical men as "anointed writers"??? This is NOT the Bible , Charles Spurgeon was NOT "anointed" and there are plenty of free audio books on youtube from Ellen White, Joseph Smith, and many many other men of renown held in fraudulent esteem as "anointed"... beware how you communicate about the writings of men.

Oh how I love Spurgeon. He was separate from his contemporaries in his day. He died in 1892 and his non religious but accurate biblical way of preaching must have stirred up much controversy. If you are saved by trusting in Christ and not your own view of Christ then his sermons may sting a little but if you hang through the hard sayings you will have a proper understanding of your position with God. And most important God’s position with you! We all veer off track in our Christian journey. If you ever want to get back on track, C.H. Spurgeon can help you. Some of his sermons are hilarious and very entertaining. He had a lot of chutzpah. He’s got years of sermons in circulation.

Praise the Lord, Lisa. Hope by the Grace of God that you are doing well. And Praise Him that you are hungry for His Word. May that desire never cease. But please, the Word of God is found nowhere else but the Bible. That's all the Word of God. Every other book about the Word of God is for expository purposes. In my Christian journey, I have found that it is best to feed on God's Word and have a substantial grasp of it (Psalm 1, Joshua 1:9) before reading exposatories, commentaries etc. This is because there is no Best Teacher of the Word of God than the One who authored it. Besides, in feeding off the actual Word of God, and the grace and mercy of God, you will not be deceived by the alarming rise of false teachers, prophets etc. Allow for the Holy Spirit to be your ultimate Teacher. Only the Holy Spirit can make the Word of God, and the Promises of God become alive in you and have spiritual meaning to you, personally. No one else can. Let Him also guide you to others through whom He works to teach His True Word, such as the author of this book, Spurgeon. But, but, never substitute books about the Word of God for the actual Word of God. The reading of the latter ought to be so much more than the former. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant you Grace, Mercy and Peace and may they be yours in truth and in love.

@@sharonlee7111 Jesus is the prophesied Messiah of the Old Testament who is not merely a man, but God in the flesh which is why He was able to pay for our sins. If He was just a man, He would not be able to pay for our sins but would have to pay for His own, being that He would be born in flesh as we all are. However, being fully man and fully God, He is able to deliver sinful man from sin and death because He was not born of natural causes but of the Holy Spirit, through the virgin birth. He is the innocent Lamb of God, sufficient to cover our sins in His blood. The Mosaic sacrifices were pictures and pre-representations of what Jesus would come to do: lay down His life as the sacrifice for our sins. The OT prophecy in Isaiah 53 testifies to this truth of the promised Messiah sent by the LORD. Blessings.

The effects of the spiritual world are seen everywhere we look. Why do you think there is such an interest in the "paranormal," and why do you think evil is so prevalent in movies and video games? It's because we know God and Satan are both real. The effects are more real in a sense than the physical things we see with our natural eyes.

It may be true, I do not know. Yet I think that perhaps the same struggle existed for centuries. In fact, what Jesus said about the wheat and the tares is something that I often think about. The devil has planted tares among the wheat, and Jesus also said to let it remain until the end at which point in age will then come and gather up the tares and burn them in the fire. But until then, the master wishes to allow the wheat and the tears to grow up together, so that the wheat is not uprooted. But those who are we, must grow up and produce fruit. I am praying that we can do just that, to be fruitful for the Lord.

I feel for you. But I don't know if it is about changing, is it? Or even necessarily about praying. I mean, of course we pray. But the Bible says we are saved by faith. By trusting Christ. By realizing that he died for us, that his blood was shed for us. All we can do is accept his sacrifice, trusting that that was enough. We look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Isn't that true?

@@onlytruthmatters777 True. To be born again, as Christ said, is a work of the Holy Spirit. We must by born again by the Spirit. He gives us a new heart. But, still, we come to Him by faith. To be saved is a matter of looking to Jesus. Any promises not to reject anyone who comes to Him. He will receive all who looked at Him in faith. That is his promise. I don't know what you are lacking though. If, for example, you are caught in a bondage of sin, well, overcoming that bondage may be a matter of submission to the Lord, or having others pray for you, or perhaps even being part of a small group that helps you on a consistent basis. I think there are various ways that bondages are overcome.

GREAT sermon, and but, i am still learning...would someone answer if it means that it's more UNlikely for descendants of Ishmael for instance, the raging Islamists in these times now, to come to Christ? I think of the unlikeliness of Paul the apostle, who heard from God and obeyed God, becoming the most devout follower of Jesus, building God KIngdom for the rest of his life! Any reply would be appreciated. ps: i have a LOT of experience with Muslims btw, and this sermon has been a HUGE help re this, and far more, TOO.🙏💔🙏

Interesting question. Of course, Muslims can come to faith in Christ. Many have. But, it is interesting to note that God's promise was not to Ishmael, but to Isaac: God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac.[f] I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He shall father twelve princes, and I will make him into a great nation. But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year.” If you have connections with Muslims, praise the Lord. You may be an instrument of peace to them, to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply...yes, there are a few Muslims on yt who clearly have come to Christ, exposing the 'culture' and doctrines they escaped...and as far as my question goes, after thinking more and also studying up on yt this morning, which covered what you wrote here about the biblical roots, I've concluded that it would have to be an act of God, Himself, a miracle (and but, such miracles have happened in my life, tho...not w/any muslims). Indeed, my hood is one of the freakiest places on earth, which brought me to studying up on the Ishmael connection...i clicked onto one website that was supposed to explain why 51 names are banned in Saudia Arabia, and my computer went haywire...just like my neighborhood is!😳And so i'm going to sell my house after too many shocking troubles...they are now revving up for something and its not Ramadan, i suspect...i love everyone, but i do not love everyone's agenda, doctrines!...My door has and is open for anyone coming to me who is suffering, but who is not violent, deceptive, etc. By God, I'm here for anyone who is hungry for God, suffering as one does. We are justified by faith, right? But on the other hand, Jesus and all of the apostles said a lot about laying down our lives and following Christ. I don't think those two contradict each other, but both are scriptural: we are saved by faith, and yet we are damned if we willfully live in sin.

Sadly, I find this to be necessary subject matter, I wish instead that all believers were children of the adoption. Clearly though they’re not, and they need to be told this, but listening, at points, I found the writing here only adding to the confusion. Generally, in the use of the term, believer, or true believer. I don’t think many that are not believers, will ever hear or read this? Who among those that will, thinks I’m not saved? The church is full of nothing but believers and the church that is to say religion has done nothing to help all these understand why only some among them are reborn, why most are not. As Christians, if we are truly that, shouldn’t we at least be able to reach those closest to us? So close that they count themselves as of us? We use words like church but they have become meaningless. We use church to describe a building, a gathering, a religion, or denomination. Biblically church is people who were like all others dead but who have undergone a change. It’s that change, only that change that matters; any of you, all of you, maybe, likely are believers, but that’s not the mark of the saved. Now for the why not part. The how you might be saved part? Everything boils down to knowing, not of, or things about; actually knowing God. You can’t be His, you cannot go through the chastening, you can not read and gain value from the bible without the Spirit. The mark of the saved is the Spirit not what they believe. Believing was meant to bring you to one thing; the call. Read Romans 10 13 to 17 and here Paul describes exactly how we go from Adamic natural persons to saved reborn children of God. Keeping in mind Paul can be difficult, and that the natural mind can’t understand spiritual things, read it slowly. Paul begins with the call and says all that call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Salvation is conditional you need to call. The steps are, hear of God to believe, believe to call, call to receive. After Paul makes the statement of conditions in 10:13 he steps back and asks how this can happen? How will they call on one in whom they have not believed and how will they believe in one of whom they have not heard. Then answers that, a preacher sent by God. The church the biblical church was given the great commission. To send the Gospel out into the world…. alright then Christian, pop quiz what is the good news? ………………………..? If you said the death burial and resurrection, please elaborate, how is that good news? Is it for example good news for the believer that isn’t saved? or for the atheist? The agnostic? A Buddhist? It was meant to go out to the whole world after all and no one said it was only good news for the saved? For that matter if you’re saved was the death burial and resurrection good news for you? No. That’s what Yashua did, not what was accomplished by it, the good news is a way has been open for all that will to come before the thrown of God. The way is open for them (to call). They may not but it was the work of the church to tell them they could. That leaves me a little curious what happens if you do call? How do you know if you have? Paul covers that at the end Romans 10:17 he wrote: ἄρα ἡ πίστις ἐξ ἀκοῆς, ἡ δὲ ἀκοὴ διὰ ῥήματος Χριστοῦ. Which is translated; so then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. or something close to that. Second question on the pop quiz? Is this a good translation? If it left you thinking the word in question is the bible? Then NO. Remember the context in which Paul wrote this, he just got finished telling you to call on God. He went through what you would need to do that, and now he’s telling you what comes next. Faith by hearing. If you call someone, its normal for them to respond to that call, and for you to hear that response. Note: the term ῥήματος (rhēmatos) it’s what ends up being (word) in English. This Greek term is never used for a written communication only speech. Paul is literally telling you if you call you will encounter God personally. The result being that you will receive from this encounter the gift of faith. For by grace are you saved THROUGH FAITH……. One last thing believer; Note: you had to believe to call, but received faith by that call. If you think faith and believing are the same thing, I want to question that. All the saved are believers. All the saved have faith. But not all believers are saved? Last question on the quiz. What’s fruit? I think for most its behavior. We’re all sinners, ALL. Of the ten virgins all were virgins. All were as good or bad as any of the others; but most believers seem to think what they do makes all the difference? When the five arrived late, Yashua said (I never knew you). Fruit is knowing God…..again not of, or about. They were all going to the wedding, all intending to be brides. All ten knew of, all ten knew about. But five knew Him. When you think you love someone, and they don’t know you? That’s a crush, not a relationship. My sheep hear My voice…..do you hear Him? To be His, you have to. So if not, I would be asking why not? Back to the call, if you don’t hear him, it goes back to a call that was never made. I’ve been asked more than a few times why haven’t I heard Him? People think somehow you need to do more or be special? I think its awesome to be a sinner, because all the saved are. If you are you already qualify. He came to find the lost? But we don’t like being needy. Trust me I suck, He’s all I have going for me, so sinning is not the problem. After the adoption if you sin and we all do, He may just kick your butt. No one breaks the law with impunity. But it’s different when you break a window at home, than if the neighbor’s child does it. If you do, your dad might spank you but will pay for the damage…..the kid next door isn’t going to get it from your dad but they need to pay or end up in court. That’s the difference, who’s paying your way. We all do our best; Buddhist do their best. No one thinks I’m going to go out and have the worst day ever. Atheist are often just as moral as the finest Christian, if it was about sin, they might just get in before me. But like everything, it’s not about you, it’s about who you know.

Gentlemen the Galatians being bewitched into a new gospel, are not being tempted into the old religion, but their false new gospel is a licence to sin being under grace. They are not choosing to be under the law of sin and death, but are counted as under the law due to sin, as they are not tempted to return to the law of Moses, but to sin which sends them under the law of sin that came in by Moses as Romans 5:13.

YOU WERE NOT CHOSEN to carry the seed of Christ to all nations, you can laugh with joy about many other things like the joy of receiving the GIFT of Jesus' salvation by faith in Jesus... but not because you are carrying the seed according to the promise like Jacob or Isaac. So then they which be of faith are *_BLESSED_* with faithful Abraham. you can be BLESSED with Abraham but you are NOT CHOSEN like his children to BEAR CHRIST in the flesh to the nations.....Jesus was ALREADY BORN folks, you are NOT elect like Jacob, you are elect IN CHRIST by faith .... Jacob was indeed elect/chosen *_for_* the promise, the promise to carry the SEED that ended up being Jesus, through whom all nations would be blessed (Gen 18:18, 22:18)... Romans 9 is talking about who was chosen in the line of Abraham "in whom all the nations of the earth would be blessed" to bring forth that seed of Messiah, the lineage of Christ, not chosen to be saved.! "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." (Gal 3:16)

What do you do with Romans 9:21-22? Or, what do you make of the Apostle Paul himself, who was bent on destroying Christians, and then Jesus met him on the way, opened his eyes, and also said that Paul was a chosen vessel. The point is, Paul wasn't seeking God. In fact, none of us are. If it is then God who opens our eyes to see Him, if none of us seeks Him unless He draws us, how can we disregard that side of reality? To say anything less makes us a "little bit good," good enough, we think, to seek God. But so wretched as we are, not even seeking God, then He gets all the glory. I am all for Him getting all the Glory, not men. That seems biblical too.
