The only issue that I disagree with is in Ch.13. It appears that R.A. Torrey teaches that the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT is a separate event that occurs at some point AFTER salvation. The baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT occurs at the point of conversion. It is the cause of "regeneration" of the born again believer.

Scripture to consider: When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. Acts 19:5‭-‬6 NASB

No it does not. Even the disciples while Jesus was in the flesh could not impart the Holy Spirit till after he went away. He commanded the apostles and disciples to go to Jerusalem tarry there until he could send the Holy Spirit to them. Day of pentecost it was poured out. Acts chapter 2, Acts chapter 10, Acts chapter 19. Without this evidence there is no infilling. God controls the tongue. The same exact outpouring happens when one fully yields.. all wee commanded to be baptised after repentance. Not an option. Pride of God is the infilling of the Holy Ghost. It's real. Bible teaches Mark 26:26. Also not to forbid the speaking in tongues

The scripture that could apply is Matthew 5:30: And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

It all depends how you use it for, to enrich your soul, or to destroy it. By listening to audio books like this one you are building up your spiritual life and your relationship with the Lord.

Smartphones: Blessing or Curse? Since the rise of the smartphone, the potential to be exposed to evil, as well as for evil to be exposed in us, has grown so much! The time we live in was inconceivable just 20 years ago. I believe much good can be done with (and through) a smartphone. But not everyone can restrain themselves from wanting to see evil things that are out there, nor do they want to restrain themselves from destructive curiosities that are within. Smartphones like money, magnify what a person is. If an evil person is rich, their money magnifies their selfishness. If a good person is rich, their money magnifies their generosity. In the same way, if a person has evil desires, a smartphone will expose their corruption. But if a person has a desire for God and His will, then a smartphone will reveal that person to KEEP themselves unspotted from the world- because though there is evil they can click on and look up, they seek to use a smartphone as a means to do good. Our best defense to stand against the wiles of the devil, is to stay close to Jesus and be satisfied in Him! And to be aware of the snares that will come along the way, if you have a smartphone. Even when a person is not actively searching for evil things, evil things may make their way to a person. Perhaps a person does not have evil desires, and they are able to say no to ungodliness, but what about their sons and daughters? Maybe it's not necessarily an appetite for evil, but perhaps just the sheer curiosity of wanting to see and look. For anyone who is dealing with any problem while on the internet, please seek help. Do not allow the enemy to keep you bound in chains and in the dark. Talk to a trusted friend or person and bring it to the light. Sometimes, accountability is the missing ingredient in the fight for victory.
