Have you been baptized? It's good to repent out of your sins. Changing your thoughts or mind is one of the part pleasing to God I have to stop thinking of what the wicked thought that was talking me out of it, I have to forget about the other people thought, I have to just think of what God wants me to do; it's good to be humble. And start the work of Jesus, for God to recognize it, the word is act in obedience. Glory be to God.

Have you Ever realized you were lost, and Separated from God and going to hell.. because of your sin. Rom 3:10, [3:23 "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" ] Rom 6:23 B. Believe. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again the third day, victorious over sin, hell, and the grave. 1 cor 15:1-4, Rom 5:8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. C. Call on/ confess. Romans 10:13 for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Has there been a time in your life you can point your finger too, where you have asked Jesus Christ to forgive you and save you? (Trusting in his shed blood / finished work on the cross alone for your salvation, not your own works, not your baptism, not your church membership, but in him alone.. in the fact that he is God incarnate and that he paid for your sin on the cross) Nobody is saved just because they believe that Jesus Christ existed with head knowledge. James 2:19 says thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devil's also believe and tremble. Even the devil believes in God. Head knowledge is a start, but according to the Bible in Romans 10:9,10,13.. we must believe in our heart and receive him by calling on him to save us. What good is a gift unless you reach out and take it? You may be able to see that it's there, but unless you receive it.. it's not yours. You have to acknowledge that you need it and take it. If you have been saved, you will be able to point to an instance in your life where you have asked Jesus Christ to forgive you, and save you.

He came upon me on the night of Oct 8,2020 and I had no idea this happened to ppl so super naturally as it did. I am a new creature, who walks in power of the Holy Spirit, spreading the gospel and repentance to anyone who will listen, something I could never do before! My whole life is Jesus and leading souls to Him! My family and friend thought I went crazy and think I act too “holy” & nobody understands me, that once did ! I don’t fit in this world anymore! This world is not my home. I hate what He hates and love what He loves. I hate sin! I have not personally met anyone that this has happened to, even the people to proclaim to be Christians! The narrow road is not easy, but i would not trade this gift for all of the money, riches or treasures in this whole world and thank Him everyday for choosing me out of this world, to do His work, and for lifting the veil off of my eyes! To follow Jesus by the power of the Spirit is good and right. I have, however, often seen people go off on their own, often ignorning other clear scripture and not being under the proper authority and teaching of biblical pastors. Not that this is you, just saying that it's important not to make the mistake, and the body of Christ is only complete when all work together in their various roles in the church.

I'm seeking. Thanks for this book. It provides a clear path for seeking. I believe I have met these requirements before but never received the manifestation of the baptism. I'm going to search my heart again today. Try again. Sadly, I'm dealing with chronic pain these days from unexplained cauaes. This makes my need even greater, but also tramples on my faith. Be discerning....you have the full indwelling of the Holy Spirit if you are a true followers of Christ. He has fully indwelling you but you must open every part of your life to let Him occupy your whole heart. This is the sanctification process. We stubble but we get back up and look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

We serve a God that understands our weaknesses. Its incredible to know that even when I grieve the Holy Spirit, I can confess my weaknesses and God is always faithful to restore me with His power... with a fresh anointing of His Holy Spirit. Chapter 5 is a powerful chapter. I must participate daily in "stirring up" my relationship with The Holy Spirit...and chapter 5 teaches me how to do this. Living without power in this day and age is not a good option. I needed this clarity. I must confirm my relationship daily. I must take "responsibility" for my own...self imposed dilemma...if I am lacking in His power...and to take responsibility to do what God requires of me to be restored to His power. God is happy to restore us and comfort us all in these uncertain times...even as I am willing to yield to Him in the moment that I am in. Amen! :) Thank you Jesus for R.A. Torrey.

The Holy Spirit came down on Jesus by the river Jordan and remained. Jesus said I must leave you now and will send another The Holy Spirit (Comforter) and He will teach you into all Truth. As those called for ministry we must continually seek the indwelling even after our first encounter through baptism of the Holy Spirit. This will keep us humbled and conscientious that without Jesus, we can do nothing. Spiritual pride will lead to a fall, and we need the Holy Spirit through our earthly journey and eventual second coming of Jesus Christ. Amen

The Holy Spirit baptism is to be filled with the Spirit to overflow. The filling must be fervently prayed for until the Lord answers you and fills you. Then to cause the overflow you must surrender the last vestige of your will, your tongue, until the Holy Spirit tales control of it, " tames" it, and enables you to speak in the spiritual language that our English translation calls "tongues". Once this happens it starts the overflowing baptism while at the same time the Spirit joins with your spirit. Thus is how the Holy Soirit is recieved.

Indeed. Holy Ghost baptism is definitely a conscious experience with audible evidence which the scriptures called " speaking tongues". He had many great points but sadly he neglected or refuse to make it crystal clear when it comes to speaking in tongues as the undeniable evidence back up by scriptures. And he also think such people who are once used by God but later rejected because of disobedience, pride etc only lose spiritual power but not their salvation, he is OSAS. He didn't recognize apostates.

I'm not sure that there are two "receivings of the Spirit." But, it does seem there is a salvation experience, and a receiving of the Holy Spirit experience, two separate realities. This is emphasized in Acts 19.

@@1967John_P Do we need to be edified? Yes, absolutely. But does it make us worthy of the salvation we have received? NO. No amount of holiness or good works can make us worthy, cos salvation is a gift and cannot be earned. The disciples referred to in Acts 19 are that of John the Baptist and not of Jesus, when Paul preached to them about Jesus and when they believed they received the spirit. Similarly when we believe in Jesus we receive the Holy Spirit. The evidence of the spirit is the turning of our heart to the Lord. Tongues is one of the evidence of the spirit and not the ONLY evidence to look for. A person is brought to Jesus through the work of the spirit in the person's heart. And the tongues most people speak these days are NOT known languages like it happened on the day of Pentecost, instead people tend to blabber whatever comes to their mouth thinking that it is an utterance of the spirit. The church has over emphasized the speaking of tongues as the primary evidence of the spirit due to which most people who have the holy spirit end up thinking all their life that they are not fully saved nor at their full potential. @@1967John_P Paul is calling it mysteries bcoz no one understands what a person in tongues speaks. And what mystery is a man going to talk to God that is going to be new to God. I agree that there are people who indeed speak in a foreign tongues and speak out of utterance from their spirit and there are those who fake it. I also agree that tongues are a sign of the baptism of the spirit. But not speaking in tongues doesn't disqualify us of our salvation which we both agree. The evidence of the baptism of the Spirit is the Fruit of the spirit in a believer's life Gal 5:22. A transformed life is the sign of the Holy Spirits work in a believer. But there are people who speak in many tongues but their life is not led by the spirit and they think they are superior to other believers and look down on other believers.

Holy Spirit is a person not a mere power. You have to trust Holy Spirit, not control. Strong control is rebellion which the Bible calls witchcraft. We must learn to recognize that it’s not our power, It’s His work His way. God is moving us towards a unified honest mind concerning the conscience, not self deception, because the mind that is not unified has limited access to the heart, and cannot receive. Well, first thing - The Holy Spirit is not fooled by some trickery, some gimmicky repetition of words that is "guaranteed" to fill you with a spirit. But there is a way to genuinely receive the Holy Spirit, to be born again, and to live truly for Jesus Christ. The reality is, anything that is really good is worth imitating, and that is why we have so many cheap imitations of the real thing. But don't settle for less, there is a real, fullness of the Holy Spirit to be experienced by God's people through the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't give up, God himself is good.

However, what I think is often referred to as "tongues" today, is not the same as what we see in scripture. Also, Paul makes it clear that not all speaking tongues (1 Corinthians 12:30). So maybe, but not necessarily. That's my understanding according to scripture and also what I've seen.

Scripture is CLEAR when you READ and STUDY it in its context that : the "baptism of the Holy Spirit " happens to every born again believer. You cannot use Acts 2 as normal for the Church , throughout all ages. The Holy Spirit birthed the Church ONCE on Pentacost...No more "sounds of a rushing wind" , no more "tongues as of fire". And And this is the point you need to understand, "And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied." Acts 19:6 KJV (Baptism of the Holy Ghost) As mentioned in the book, at Salvation, the believer is quickened (made alive) or regenerated. @@jeremiahzeiset in the justification by lecture 1837 Finney says Christ didn't keep the law for us or was obedient for us but for Himself. Why did Christ come then? How is Finney saved by his own good works? In systematic theology pp 249,250 He denys orginal sin, in regeneration ibij 291 he claims to be perfect. Anyone who says that he without sin deceives himself 1 john 1:8. The man taught that he was perfect and that Christ died for Himself. Salvation is pretty basic Christ paid the price for mankind because we are sinners by the first Adam. Finney was a heretic who thought that God was with him but reality he didn't have the basic fundamentals of faith, he talked like he did but the mixture kept him out the rest promoting that he was perfect and if you fail at all to his measure of perfection you're going to Hell.

The scripture is misleading, king Saul and Moses the characters in the first testament of the bible were never baptised with the Holy Spirit they were merely anointed .to do certain assignments . To take away their anointing were acceptable because of disobedience. Once a person is reconciled with God through His Son Jesus Christ., he is born again, his life is regenerated and he receives the Holy Spirit to guide him and live with him the rest of his life. Baptism is not anointing, it is permanent

There is no formula such thing as Holy Spirit on demand , Laying hands and asking by anyone do not guarantee that you will received the Holy Spirit.
