I remember being charged R800 for what I thought were complementary bottles of some fancy Italian water. My table of guests were so impressed by the waiters who kept filling people's glasses without being asked. I was livid. And that was only R800. Twenty tau, I would faint 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have the impression that the waitress's polite way of telling the price, was by naming the brand. It's up to the customer to ask for the exact price, because obviously it would be different from the bottle store. Thanks Anele for dying for us... I'm not going to get caught that way. 😹

I used to work as a waitress. The waitress should have called you aside and explain prices in a polite way. Or rather ask would you prefer a premium bottle? We try by all means not to sound rude to our customers.

Don Julio is very expensive, tastes like all the other tequilas though i don't blame her for not telling you the price because just like you assumed its just tequila she assumed you are a baller, what ticks me off is that service fee, 10% being forced to us to pay even for crappy service, imagine bringing tequila and for a whole table and not bringing shooter glasses?? Is this thing a N'Gud??? Olmecca for the win anyday long as its GOLD or BLACK it's perfect, tried Patron a few times didnt go down well except one night with Lil Jon at Cocoon(wild night and even wilder man)!!!

Definitely not the waitress' fault. She probably didn't want to upset or offend you by assuming that you can't afford it. And you said to her "just bring me a bottle of tequila". But you've got a point, knowing the price before consuming is probably a good idea, however should the waitress say the price first or should the patron ask first?

But the waiter did say the name of the bottle and you said bring it, and I am sure by the sound of things, you were not even looking at this lady in her eyes the entire time you were ordering not that it makes a difference, she might have thought you know what you were ordering and the price.
