I am stunned that the boys were fooled by this guy's gaslighting. They kept using the fear in his voice as justification for him being innocent but he was obviously terrified of getting exposed as a weirdo. You can send texts from a number that isnt yours on those apps, but not from a number that actually belongs to somebody. No innocent person would be giving such a weird thing this much time & energy. If i got a text telling me i did something i didnt, i would just ignore it lol. He desperately craved reassurance from kb that he wasn't gonna get exposed. There is literally no logic in his side of the story. Viva

My thing is, having you number leaked would be weird and no one would want that regardless if you were innocent or guilty. But assuming he is innocent, he wouldn’t know KB is an ultra famous Internet personality (co-host of Barstool shopping network) with a firing squad. So realistically it shouldn’t matter to him whether or not his number was released unless he knew for a fact that A LOT of people would see it. He could also just be afraid that somehow posting the story and his number would get traction and he would have to explain himself over and over again. Spoofing numbers from other cellphones is easily a thing. It's on an app.... Not saying that's what happened but 💯 someone random tied to the situation somehow could just use this dude's number as the number sent. We used to prank my buddy at work using my bosses cell number to text him stuff he thought obviously it was my boss but it was the spoofing app where you can make it look like it's sent from whatever number you type in....

You can ABSOLUTELY send messages using someone else’s number. There’s websites that allow for different prank type things. My buddy has done it multiple times to us

You can text from another number. It’s pretty easy. It’s almost impossible to get a return text, as a response would go to the phone with the actual number. Almost impossible, not impossible. That would take an extremely skilled hacker with insider knowledge.

Recording the call without permission could be an issue. In some states like CA both parties need to be aware. So as long as you make sure they know they’re being recorded it’s fine. I only know this because my company got sued for it.
