I watch Tottenham from down under and have followed Ange since the Brisbane Roar days. At times I find it excruciating listening to fans excoriating Ange. The fans want a trophy immediately and would chew their arms off in the process. It drives me crazy. Franz Kafka said ... impatience takes you out of paradise and impatience never lets you return. Patience my lovelies.

I agree but I don’t know if you are in the minority or majority of Spurs fans now

I wouldnt be surprised if we find out both Son and Werner are playing through injuries at the moment. I thought his answer hinted at that re Son today, and I thought what he said about the team post Fulham hinted at that too. Interesting presser today, I thought he gave away that he is really irked by something(s) thats gone on with Djed in training. And that the budget wasnt available in the summer to sign anyone else that would meaningfully impact the squad as anything more than a body. Dont see much movement in January and anyone coming in will be a loan before coming out of the summer budget

Interesting. You think you can read that much into his answers?

Maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, I'm sure we'll find out eventually. But on Djed, I'm confident on that. I know Ange's values, he's brought up Davies and Foster in multiple press conferences since he's joined and talked about their attitude in training pushing the team and being positive influences on the group even when the question had nothing to do with them. Sometimes he's brought them up when talking about transfer plans before I think. Today he was asked specifically about Djed by Ali Gold I think, and you can tell he thought about biting - watch his reaction, he thinks about saying something but then didn't really give much away but he does bring up training. He was then asked a question by Dan a few questions later which irritated him - with merit, insinuating that Archie, Lucas (and Djed) weren't playing. Ange defended Archie being ready and playing significant minutes. He then made a defence and distinction that Lucas was 18, training well, playing minutes in the Europa League but not quite as ready for speed of PL football at this time and says only of Djed that it is "a different scenario."

It’s interesting to hear you see that way. Not saying you’re wrong, I’ll now be taking a closer look at how he talks about Djed in the future!

Bypassing the Salah comparison, I would reference the Toshack Kegan striking partnership, which was deadly. When Kegan left Liverpool, Toshack game suffered, and he was sold, the departure of Kane is more than the loss of goals it's the loss of a special goal scoring relationship, a pass from Kane could put son on his front foot, to me is part of what seems to be a decline in son, other points son is played out of position and played to many internationals in the last years without a summer break, he is an inside forward and yes he may have lost half a yard, but there is no one in the team who plays to his strength or play a Kane ball to him to run onto. But the again i consider this to a general problem in the team, a lack of understanding between how others play and what their needs are.. If Ange had been in charge of the Dunkirk withdrawal, we would have been so busy, attack attack we would have lost the army.

Bit before my time but it’s a comparison I’m sure Ange would appreciate!

@@TomBarclayjournalist I read a report today, Kane wants Son to join him at B:M

The problem with Son is that he hesitates too much on the ball and you know when he will fluff it up. The less time on the ball the better.

This season: Salah 15 goals 12 assists the best player in the PL. Son 4 goals 4 assists. Once’s clearly not like the other.

We should now have been expecting 15 - 20 goals from the 2 guys we paid 60 million for to take the burden off son . Its frustrating to see what we are getting for 120 milllion from Richalison amd Solanke in goal returns

I was watching Son in the tunnel line-up before the game. He was hugging the Fulham goalie and having a chat with the Fulham players. I thought he was going to give them a stadium tour. Completely the wrong attitude for our captain.I think he's become too comfortable with all the 'Spurs legend' adoration. Then of course he misses a sitter within 5 minutes.🙄
@TomBarclayjournalistАй бұрын
Meh, that’s his nice guy personality. Not gonna hammer him for that. He’s not going to be a Roy Keane
@michaelkennedy3372Ай бұрын
Haha I understand but what about making our stadium a fortress?.Let the Fulham players stand there and be nervous.He can hug them after the game ( also Roy Keane raised trophys) .@@TomBarclayjournalist

Understand what you are saying but often the players hug a fellow countryman who they play with at international level , why would you not say hi 🤔 Blame the world we live in where you can't say or do anything without being accused of something !!!
