He eventually mellowed out but it took leaving the bay moving to NYC, marrying, becoming a father then later relocating to Texas and becoming a charter pilot to do so.

A tragic accident hey? 😄. It was in a way. Definitely was for Angel. I knew what the clip was about from the thumbnail. I remembered reading a few years ago about the boys taping over a video of Shane. Thanks agian for the wonderful clips!

Angel was very forgiving. Imagine being accused of hitting a child - it's not something you'd lightly get over from a friend. That they could believe that and think so little of you.

@@hathe90s45 in my opinion this was a side effect of the show lacking a Celia-type character in the mid-late 90s. Whenever they needed someone to overreact or be conservative about something, they would hand it to Ailsa even though it goes against what she is like the rest of the time. There are other examples much worse than this one too where she fully takes on the "Celia" persona, being outraged about certain things, even though in 1988 she'd be the first one to tell Celia to shut up.

@@hathe90s45 no she'd never have said something like that about Frank and Bobby (even though she'd have been more correct to!). Theres another storyline where she gets completely outraged about kids playing violent video games and gets all hoity-toity about the issue. She even puts her nose in the air and storms out of pippa's house because pippa doesnt agree with her about it. It's just so celia and so the opposite of what ailsa was like in that first year. The annoying thing is that she still acts like "old" ailsa the rest of the time. They just change her personality for certain storylines which is very annoying.

Duncan lied and made everything up as he was part of being involved in accidentally recording over the footage of Shane. We've all been there, and I'm surprise the way Ailsa handled the whole situation.

I remember this Angle should of put the video somewhere safe out of the kids way. I have recorded over things before and it's so annoying thank goodness we went digital and no longer need to use cassetts to record our favourite shows.

On the cassette itself, there is a small square where the plastic can be taken off to prevent the tape from being able to record over. I'm being pedantic here lol and revisiting my childhood and teen days :-)

When I’m occasionally flicking through the TV and I come across modern Day Home and Away I laugh to Myself and think “how did I ever used to watch this rubbish” but watching these from that era made Me realise it was actually Good…. It’s Today’s present stuff that is crap…. These clips make You reminisce, You would get Home from School and watch the Kids programmes first on ITV and then BBC1 after that finished was Neighbours and after that ended switch back to ITV for Home and Away…. If You were a Kid in the early 90’s I dare You to tell Me You didn’t do this????

The earthquake happened between the start and end of this storyline, didn't it? That's why Alf was supposed to be resting up and Angel was living at summer bay house. I remember Angel sitting amongst the rubble of her and Shane's old house after it fell down during the earthquake.

Angel has always got a hall pass from everyone because of the wheelchair, Shane’s death etc but frankly she was painful at times and made everything revolve around her. Even poor Sarah was written as her lady in waiting.

@@SummerBayJournal One thing i always remember about Angel is that Shannon made up a lie about Shane kissing her or having an affair with her and Angel just believed it and didn't even talk to Shane about it. She packed her stuff and got on a plane that crashed and we spent a number of episodes where it was all about Angel in this plane crash and everyone bending over backwards to find her. You could say Shannon was the real baddie in that situation but i think Angel was. Shannon was a silly confused kid who regretted her actions, later on, Angel was the wife who believed the lies about her husband and didn't even talk to him about it.

Shane and Angel were wonderful. They'd have lasted and Ailsa was cruel to accuse her without asking and she also had no right to judge their marriage. They were young and very happy together. They shouldn't have killed him off. She doesn't belong with Simon
