What a great side dish for your family dinner, church function, picnic or just about anytime..People love deviled eggs. Don’t know why they call them “deviled” because they are so good.. #easy #great #southerncooking #homemadecooking #quick #yummilicious
Recipe
6 eggs
2 tablespoons mayo
1 1/2 tablespoons pickle relish
1/4 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
dash garlic powder
In a 2 quart saucepan, add about 3 cups water..bring to a boil..gently add eggs one at a time..boil 12 minutes..pour off hot water and add cold water..let eggs cool in cold water..peel..
Cut each egg in half lengthways..take yolk out and put in a bowl..put your egg halves in plate..
Mash your yolks up with a fork..add other ingredients..using a spoon or piping bag, fill each half with mixture..refrigerate..
Garnish: Crisp bacon, paprika, red sweet bell pepper, green onion..just a few suggestions

I love deviled eggs, and putting the potato salad in the middle makes a very nice presentation for any gathering or pot luck. 🙂❤

Exactly the same way my Mama did it here in Mississippi. Potato salad always went in the middle of the egg plate. Love watching y'all. Once again I send warm greetings from my home here in North Mississippi.

I love the idea of putting the potato salad in the middle! I have never known what to with the space in the middle of the deviled egg plate.

You have to put paprika on top of the deviled eggs! 😊. At least that’s how my mother always made them and she never used garlic in anything. Deviled eggs are so good! Another tip is cook an extra egg and mash the whole thing really well and add to the yolk mixture to make more filling. Got that tip from Paula Deen years ago. I usually have enough as it is without doing that unless I use a piping bag. You lose a lot of the filling inside the bag that way. I do it the way you do, using my fingers and a spoon.

Here's the reason they call them deviled eggs and nothing to do with the devil or Satan: The term "deviled eggs" comes from the culinary term "deviled", which is used to describe dishes that are highly seasoned or spicy. The word "devil" first appeared in British writing in 1786 to describe hot, fried, or broiled dishes that were heavily spiced. By 1800, "deviling" had become a verb that described the process of making food spicy. In the 19th century, the term "deviled" was often used to describe spicy or zesty eggs that were made with ingredients like mustard, pepper, or paprika stuffed into the yolk cavity of half an egg.

I never liked the name deviled , so I changed it, and now, I hear lots of people call them that🌹
