I love the Buffy crew, but I also love how Angel and his gang were so unique that they could be funny and serious at the same time.

I loved watching Angel from my childhood days and when I was in high school, there's not only action but I love the comedy and humor to it. Seeing Angel wear a pink helmet on a motorcycle is hilarious, along with Cordelia calling Willow a big lesbo.
@HariSeldon913 Жыл бұрын
Nope. There was a bunch of innuendo with Harmony in Cordelia's apartment that gave Cordy the idea that Harmony was a lesbian. The line shown was after Willow tells Cordy that Harmony is a vampire, which is followed by Willow declaring herself to be the lesbian.

Is it me or do the Angel Inc lot feel more like a "family" than the Scoobies? Dunno... I just felt more invested in the Angel characters... Like I do with TWD... Cos they feel more like a unit, like they have more chemistry and love for one another in a more "die for you" sense? Especially in the beginning with (for me anyway) Angel, Cordy, Wes and Gunn... Loved Fred but she broke my boy Wes' heart. Not her fault of course but still... Then that putrid Connor thing... My poor Wesley (sorry Alyson, I've been totally in love with your hubby for a loooong time). OH and Lorne! LOVED Lorne so much, RIP Andy ❤️❤️❤️
@bryanmanzo11623 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I'm actually the opposite. I prefer and think the Scoobies feel more like a family. And when I say Scoobies, I mean mainly Buffy, Willow and Xander. Some of Angel Inc does feel like family (Doyle, Cordelia, and mostly Wes), but I guess Buffy did it better in. I mean take the last season of Angel for example. After Fred died I didn't really see him comfort Wesley. I get that he was too busy with The Senior Partners, but at least acknowledge your friends pain man. Also when Lorne tells Angel he's leaving, Angel doesn't even acknowledge it like I think a real friend/family would. Again, he was busy with the Big Picture, but after everything they went through you'd think he'd at least share a moment. The only Angel member I feel was like family was Cordelia
@anonygent3 жыл бұрын
I'll take a third position and say I thought the Scoobies were best of friends while the Angel gang was a team, at least after the first season. The Scoobies were talented amateurs doing their thing in support of Buffy, but the Angel crew were professionals, who could and did keep going even when their leader walked out.
@bryanmanzo11623 жыл бұрын
@@anonygent I agree with the first part. "the Angel gang was a team". For the most part, even if Angel wasn't there they could hold there own. Then again (excluding the Senior Partners) they didn't face threats like the Scoobies did. Think about it. If Angel disappeared how would Cordelia, Wes, Lorne, Fred, and Gun, fight villains like Glory or The First _and win?_ (I'm not saying they couldn't, it's just that Angel is their best overall fighter) As for the second part: In the beginning of Buffy Season 6, we can see how the Scoobies "could and did keep going" without Buffy. So most of them may not be "professionals", but you can see how they kept fighting like a team even when their leader was gone.
@anonygent3 жыл бұрын
@@bryanmanzo1162 I really felt like they were lost without Buffy, like they were going through the motions but their hearts weren't in it anymore. Even the relationship between Xander and Willow became less, and they'd been friends since kindergarten.
@bryanmanzo11623 жыл бұрын
@@anonygent True. I think it's for two reasons that "their hearts weren't in it anymore": 1. Most of them had already developed other important relationships. There was more to their lives than just the fighting and their friend Buffy. Xander had Anya and Willow had Tara. Why keep fighting if the person who did most of it is gone _and_ (besides the fact that she's dead) you can be happy with those around you? 2. The Scoobies are fighters, but not in the same way as most of Angel's crew. I'd say that, besides Angel, the only ones who would actively keep fighting demons would be Wes and Gun, as that's what they were _already doing_ before they met Angel. So yeah. I guess my second point agrees with what you said from the beginning: "The Scoobies feel more like family while Angel's crew felt more like a team"
