The only way they can leave is to quit the W entirely, because other teams would not be allowed to hire them. However, that's under the old CBA. It's impossible at this time to predict what effect the new CBA will have on rookies who are still under rookie contracts when it gets signed. Depends on what gets negotiated.

@JE-IC there was no timeline in my statement and as you mentioned there is a possibility for them to move depending on circumstances. WNBA players with rookie scale contracts can be traded, but only if they were drafted rookies
