This is such a good carving to give as a gift! I carved one for my mom in remembrance of my grandma. Sadly my grandma passed in 2020😥, and this was the perfect carving for remembering my mamaw. She always loved angels, whether glass, wood, or painting. So thank you.

Hi, I saw your video and I have to say a few positive comments for you. Your voice was calm and relaxing. Your video didn't have music and it was very much appreciated, I found myself more focused to the end with out the loud noise. I was able to follow your tutorial. I actually learned what my problem area was (the triangle cut). I have 8 unfinished carvings that needed those cuts and I am able to complete them now. Thank you again and not sure when video 2 will come along. Can you please let me know? Cheers ~•~

Hello Cat! I appreciate your kind words very much! The triangle cut is a very useful technique, I use it often. Part 2 will be posted within the next few days. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! Cheers!

Had a go at the Valentine's Gnome " she who must be obeyed " loves it and has it in her display cabinet , I started having a go just before Christmas with a view to making a Nativity for my granddaughter for this coming Christmas so your Angel is next on my list here in Guernsey in the Channel Islands , loving your tutorials .

Cousin Jack I am trying to draw the angel on my wood and it is not adding up are you sure that your basswood was 2 1/4" long? It dosent seem long enough when you start laying out all the 1/2" measurments from the top.
@whittling3 жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie! Yes, the height is 21/4". We'll be bringing the chin down a little more in the next step. The hands will be shortened a bit as well. Hope this helps.

I just had a question. It's about the utility knife you showed in the beginning of the video, what kind of blade does it have? Does it have the 4 notches, or the two notches on the top?
@whittling2 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, I use the Lenox Gold blades with the four notches because it allows for more blade length than the regular two notch blades. Thanks for your question.
