First of all do not loan any money to friends or family! It’s either a gift or don’t give at all. I have given many monetary gifts of either several hundreds or even thousands of dollars but I gave it with zero expectations of it ever being repaid. I also gave it willingly and with a glad heart. Second if you’re foolish enough to give away money as a loan write up a contract.
