For the people saying this mother is selfish, and should have forgave the daughter, well..we all don't know what kind of treatments, and shame she had dealt with her ex's family. This story is only a quick summary of the mother's life, I'm sure there is way more details to this ice berg so don't judge her. No one will hold such deep, and strong grudge unless something really bad truly happened. Until you are in her shoes, you wouldn't know how it feels and it would not be easy to forgive someone who has done you so wrongly to the point you hate them with a passion. I don't blame your mother for having so much hatred toward your husband's side of the family. Forgiveness is the hardest thing anyone can offer, and its going to take time for that to happen. I could relate to some of the pain the woman in this story is going thru, I was in tears, however the only difference is that my parents forgave me and I’m still able to go around and see them, but a non existence person to my grandparents and the rest of my relatives. As a mom I would not want my kids marrying my ex's kids for what his parents put me thru. They never liked me and gave me nicknames. I was glad I left my ex to marry someone else. Your mom is tough. Your in laws probably said some really hurtful things to her and your father in law cannot man up to marry your mom. But she shouldn't hold those grudges against them because they already got their karma. She should just let it go.
