I have to say her father is a great person for his generation. Just unfortunate that he went with the culture and made his daughter went with the marriage because she was kidnapped and lived with her in-law for several days. I feel so sad for this woman but really glad she received so much love and support from her father. We normally don't hear stories like this for this generation.

It’s your religion/culture. What you believe in changes how you live your life, and unfortunately for you, the Hmong religion/culture is a pretty bad one especially for women. -you’re bad wife for leaving for any reason -you cannot have the children if you leave or remarry -if you remarry your children cannot burry you -you have to repay your husband his money before you can divorce him -he can marry multiple wives and you have zero saying -kidnap, forced marriage, then rape is normal -random rape is fine, you just have to marry them afterwards bc now they are worthless. (Yes the victim is now worthless) Just some of the few. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. But let’s just continue ignoring these facts and act like nothing is wrong and keep having so much pride in shaman. why?
