Great lesson. Never invest in stocks. It's unstable. You win big when stocks up but you can also lose everything when stocks go down like right now. Buy real state. It's stable and more profitable in the long run.

That's not entirely true. Just don't invest all your life savings in stocks, invest what you can afford to lose. Investing is intend for the long term, you will lose money if you are thinking about the short term. Right now stocks are down but you don't lose any money unless you sell.

My take away from this story is that this lady thinks she’s the most intelligent, that its ok to put up with a cheater and a gambler husband, investment is a bad idea, and selling life insurance. 😂

That’s the take away. I think the moral of the story for mid-age Hmong women was that don’t do what your husband does, don’t mind his life style. Live your own life while still his wife, but when he hit rock bottom, you need to bail him out. Because After all, women don’t want a divorce. I honestly it’s dumb to live this way.

Investing and gambling are two different things. Your husband is a gambler. Sounds like this lady is trying to sell life insurance. It’s true you don’t loose money in life insurance because even if the company goes bankrupt, the policy is taken by another company. Much prop to you sister for smart investing.

In 2019 my ex husband took my checkcard to the bank and withdraw my money from the ATM machine but the machine was malfunction so he went to the teller and try to withdraw my money but the teller ask for ID and bank check card and his ID and check card shows different name so they told him why does he have my card and whose card is it, he can be jail for stolen check card. Previously he came upon a problem with the bank for stealing money from his parents account came around $2,000.00 so his mom and sister went to the bank upon seeing the bank statement. The bank paid them back and they went after him fine him $2,000.00 so my advice is don't take what's not yours. He had to borrowed money from his friend to pay back the bank, but I don't know if he's able to pay his friend back since I left him for his stupidity in life.
