@michaelaloser59854 жыл бұрын
@@essencebeasley6524 lol tightlacing in the Regency ? That's pretty wild since the job of Regency stays was to lift & separate the bosom and maybe smooth out a tummy if need be-- some stays didn't even extend much beyond the empire waistline of the dresses . On top of that, though bone eyelets existed past 1800 most eyelets were still hand sewn and tightlacing basically requires the metal eyelets that didn't show up on corsets until like 1840 ? So yeah almost certainly Regency tightlacers even among the most fashionable and luxuriant of them.

I'm living for those embroidered wildflowers, and although I would never choose green if I had the pretext for going with a warmer colour, this colour scheme, and the intricate, beautiful details of the embellishments are absolutely stunning. Which, of course, is Angela's whole brand. What a genius at using textures, sparkles, floofs, and all kinds of pretty trifles; what a pro at whimsical, fun, creative designs. Also what a stunner, even in a "maternity dress" and a garish wig; definitely can pull off the notoriously unflattering Regency silhouette, even if it's not her favourite. All round, *chef's kiss*

Also once again I love the costumes and the remaking of the modern music which are also not historically accurate but you didn't mention that

@Charisma Girl The very things that annoyed you annoyed me about the series too. However, once I got over the historical "fantasy" aspect, I just tried to enjoy it. Kept reminding myself that fiction is always fiction. You should hear my SO going on about "Vikings" and how no real Viking with any brains intact would charge any battle without some kind of helmet and their gear would have been all mish-mash, because looted from other victims and so on. What's really going to annoy both you and I is that the younger generation will think all the historical inaccuracies are gospel truth, all because some studio execs somewhere thought this is what the sheeple want. The intellectual laziness is the real epidemic.
