A small paint roller like DT now has in the hardware section-a set with a smaller pan-is great for smoothing out paper glued to things.

You can take the joint compound, put it in a syringe that you can get at most pet shops, and it makes holes and lines much easier. What did you put at the bottom of the tiled planters? You never showed putting a bottom in them. Also, if you’re working with white grout and want it darker, you can add some paint to it well mixing the water. Mix wood blue with sawdust to fill holes

Lovely stuff. Wood glue takes a couple of hours to get sticky. You can pour it into a plate a couple hours before you need to use it, so when you eventually go to use it, It will be sticky..

I would recommend that everybody use wood glue or another kind of adhesive (my favorite is Gorilla glue in the silver tube, in my opinion it's a much better glue than e6000 in many ways) if not using wood and not to use hot glue, hot glue is a temporary glue and eventually will come undone.

With the Terra cotta vase, you should have mentioned that without firing in a kiln the vase will not hold water.
