I appreciate all you do and your time you put in. Not only are you a great player but teacher as well! I also appreciate all the notes you call out. I hope in the future you do more 12 string lessons. There really isn't a lot out on KZbin on 12 string. Thank you. Much respect.

Angela, hello from Bangor, Maine, I'm a disabled combat veteran, six month ago I was tired, discouraged and angry with life until I saw you play in a video while thumbing through my phone. You caught me with the phrase you can't play anything fast that you can't play slow, I chewed on that for a bit, ive always dreamed of playing guitar but never thought that i could, a light buld went off. My service dog had past away and I needed something in my life so bad and quick, instead of continuing to sit around feeling like crap I researched and attended a 10 day guitar program for vets, learned a few cords and recieved a nice learner guitar. I have been watching yours and other instruction videos ever since that day. Im so obsessed with the way it makes me feel when my fingers make the connection in rhythm. I recently bought my first Gibson Les Paul and got a nice classic Aria acoustic from my grandfather. I play every day. Some days all day, I literally have nothing in my mind, no Iraq, no political garbage, nothing, but my guitar. I'm also off of 2 medications. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks for posting this great tutorial. I'm going to learn this! Back in the 80's I had the opportunity to travel to the former Soviet Union with Roger Hodgson, lead singer of Supertramp. Roger was one of the nicest, thoughtful persons I've ever met. Spent hours with him discussing music, family and the stressors of the music industry which caused him to adopt a quieter life in Grass Valley California. Thankfully, Roger still performs when he wants to.

Absolutely best lesson for assembling the cords and strumming technique for this song! Where were you 60 years ago! Oh ya, besides this song not being published until 1977 and you not being around yet, there wasn't an internet. Fell in love with the guitar when I was 10 (70 now) but life kept getting in the way. Employed many different methods to learn over the years and satisfy my thirst for techniques. Thank you for bring your talent to us wannabes.

Angela Petrilli lessons are way better than Tony's Acoustic Challenge. She's so pleasing to be instructed by. I don't experience frustration, I am rocking out on this song within seconds. And yes...I am playing a 12 string!!!!

Thank you for taking us all the way through the song, Angela. As far as esus4 goes; it opens up Ramble On and essentially lives in 90 percent of the Led Zeppelin catalogue ;) I cant play any of it, but when you banged out the chord and said "Classic Rock" it pretty much conjured the answer out of 30 years of tasteful music listening.

Heard the intro today and thought it was a bit weird, maybe different tuning, so came to youtube to find out. You're absolutely right about the up-down strumming. Gives it a better, more unique sound. But in your own intro you do U-D U-D, U-D U-D, but in the lesson part @7:36 you do U-D U-D then D-U D-U.

Great lesson Angela! I've wanted to learn this song for ages. Sorry I didn't subscribe sooner and catch some of the live sessions. You hit on so many of the things my own teacher stresses to me. Like everything in life, it's a journey. BTW, I'm a Seagull fan, and I absolutely love my S12 Concert! Stunning instrument especially considering the relative bargain level price point. I'd love a Martin too, but hard to justify the entry fee of most of them up here in Canada. I'll be tuning in every chance I get from now on!❤

Great choice, love me some Supertramp. I'm going to park on this one until I have it down good. I've had the intro down for some time and whenever I'm in a guitar shop and pick up a 12 string, I always play the intro, it sounds so beautiful. I'm in west Tennessee and I already own my dream guitar, a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe EC. I would love it if you would teach "Even in the quietest moments" from Supertramp, it's another of my all time favorite acoustic songs.

Actually I have just realised this is the most complex song I have ever tried to do.Albeit the beginning sucks a beginner in cause they can it actually do it and sing! and you keep going the instrumental parts get more and more complex till that last D chord on the 14 th. ! fret. Not many cowboy guitarist go wandering up there but now they will.
