A lot of people who are coming off of harder substances tend to go towards smoking and order to curb the habit and addiction. My mom was never a smoker until she was getting off meth. She said it helped curved her habit and smoking is in her opinion a lot easier to quit then what she was doing

Any brand that claims to be "clean and preservative free" does not come anywhere near me or my pro kit. Preservatives exist for a very good reason and are NOT harmful. Her getting a rash is just one reason why I would never use a product with "clean" billing. They go off so fast, they're literally a waste of money.

I'm sorry if I come off as stupid but honestly don't know that much about makeup. So my daughter is at the age where she wants to use makeup daily. I let her use a tinted moisturiser that has 30SPF in it, so that isn't a "clean preservative free" product, but besides that product I only let her use (along with lip gloss or lip balm) a lip stain that is a "Clean, Preservative free" product; With the one, I let her use we keep it in the fridge and then every month (no matter how much is left in the container) I take it back to the store and the store completely empties the container then they sterilise the container and then they fill it up with freshly made product. Should I just buy her a lip stain that has preservatives in it? Or is it okay to keep using the one that I let her use because I make sure that it's constantly being refreshed (for a lack of better wording) Also, I'm really sorry if I've just confused you and I'm sorry if what I've written makes absolutely zero sense. Anyways sending you loads of positive energy ✨️

@@Ayesha18731 I'm not a professional but preservatives really aren't that bad. It's your own decision whether or not to continue with using the lip products but isn't it much more of a hassle to keep makeup in the fridge and having to constantly refill? The worry with not having preservatives is the makeup going bad but you put it in the fridge and that's all well and good but my worry is contamination and it really is dubious as to when the products actually expire or if the tube is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized when refilled. It also sounds more cost effective to just buy a good brand of products but if you're worried then make sure to test the products first to make sure there are no reactions. Depending on your daughter's age (I assume a pre-teen maybe) you should let her experiment because childhood is where you can really find what works for you and it also lets her be more creative. I'm not saying she should be doing full glam but let her experiment with some simple eyeshadows and teach her proper skincare especially when removing makeup properly. Overall I don't think there's a problem as long as the products are safe and by a reputable brand and it is never stupid to ask questions, people remain stupid when they don't. I hope you have a good day and I hope my English is legible as it is not my first language. TL;DR: Do what you think is best but I recommend you research, it would be a nice bonding activity for both of you to learn together. :)

I’m a recovering addict and I can say that 80% of the recovering addicts I know smoke/vape (including me). Nicotine doesn’t really affect your alcohol or drug sobriety in any way. I’m not saying that it is good for you but it’s definitely not as serious as drug/alcohol abuse. P. S. I’m in shock that Mikayla exposed this girl to her HUGE audience. It’s one of the most disgusting things you could to someone in recovery because it’s such a sensitive and serious subject. I would be very mad if someone did this to my friends or me.

I have a friend that constantly lies. It’s not uncommon to get addicted to nicotine in rehab. A lot of rehab places let you have cigarettes, so people will go in with no nicotine addiction and come out with a nicotine addiction.

She could’ve literally googled this whole nicotine sobriety thing. That way, she would’ve known a lot of rehabs allow you to smoke cigarettes or vape, because it’s not regarded as an issue. Tons of people walk into rehab without a nicotine addiction and come out sober/clean but with a nicotine addiction! And it helps them stay sober. Anything that helps is worth it. Sobriety isn’t a one size fits all!

I’ve been sober for 18 months and I vape. I know a LOT of addicts that still smoke while they’re sober. Sobriety is not a one size fits all, and if you have never been an addict you don’t get to comment on someone else’s choices with their sobriety. I wouldn’t equate my opiate abuse with nicotine addiction. It’s hard enough to get sober and it’s wrong to judge someone based on something you know nothing about!

My dad went to rehab when I was a teen. He is 13 years sober now. Even in common rehabs like NarA and AA you still don't have to cut out smoking. In fact, most people who are getting sober need a crutch, so a LOT of people in rehab become addict to smoking and caffeine instead because it helps them transition out of the one that was ruining their lives. So, from someone who has had family there, vaping and smoking is perfectly normal and is probably helping him with sobriety.

It’s not a lot to ask influencers who have young teens following them to be transparent. In fact, on most platforms it is the STANDARD to be completely transparent with ads. She not only lies about what she says, she also has a fake accent and speaks to the people who question her like they are pieces of shit. She is not a good person, she has don’t nothing to prove she’s a good person. Her videos are intended to influence people to buy products, her lying to do that does not put all of the blame on the buyer, she is a part of that equation. If we had to live assuming everyone was lying to us at all times, that would be a shitty society to be in.

When I saw it I 100% completely purchased it bc of her review on it. Cut to a tic tok about makeup she REGRETS purchasing, and one of them was the FLOWER HIGHLIGHTER!!! I was like wtf??? I felt ridiculous that I purchased it, but in the first video she raved and raved about it!!!!

I agree with everything you’re saying about Mikayla 100%.. my only thing with the brow gel is.. for the people, commenting, upset that she doesn’t like it anymore, because they bought it based off of her recommendation. that shouldn’t change whether or not they like and use the product. it shouldn’t be, well because Mikayla doesn’t like it anymore I can’t use it. I agree that the people that bought it and didn’t like it have a right to be upset, but at the same time, that’s going to happen, she’s going to recommend products to people that she loves, and they’re not going to like them because people have different preferences.
