Angelina's songwriting has always amazed me. The maturity and wisdom of the lyrics is so far beyond what she should be capable of and her arrangements seem to be spot on every time. She put out a new song "Bad Valentine" and sang several versions of it. There are 3 basic versions (no change in lyrics except shortening the repeat in the chorus in the jazz version). She did a live pedal bass driven version and a live bluesier? version both of which have an in your face "you are an idiot" bent to them and a slowed down sort of jazzier version with a remorseful feel to it. To give you an idea of the difference she did both the pedal base and jazzier version at her last concert and they were both part of the set list. I have never seen or heard of this being done before. And to note--it is my opinion Angelina seems to be taking another quantum leap in her vocal abilities as she has been working on her upper register and there is some gorgeous stuff coming from her in that area. It also seems like her upper range is expanding and her control and vibrato are getting even better. I will mention 3 songs just so you may get a better idea of what I am hearing: "It's a Mans World" (blew the roof off), "I Will Always Love You" (Stunning-slides, vibrato, whistle tone?). Both these live at her 12-14-24 concert and a studio version of "What A Wonderful World" which was soft, silky, and airy with wonderful upper register which I consider one of her masterpieces. I gave these so you would know what type of material I am noticing this on but it would be great if did them as I am very curious to see if you agree but I swear I hear a very distinct and noticeable change in her voice. I also agree with your philosophy on how you handled your prev. profession as I have found people perform much better if one shows a willingness to "step down" and help out even infrequently. Thank you, Jeff! Yes, Angelina is a beautiful vocalist and lyricist as well. I have added the songs you mention here to my list. I expect with the time and dedication that Angelina gives to her craft that she has accomplished just what you've said. Yes, I think helping raise one another up is the best way to go. Unfortunately, the world seems to disagree with me at the moment as so many idolize those that seem to succeed by stomping on others. I'll never be a billionaire, but I'll retain my self respect - lol. 🙂

The kitchen scene makes me laugh and cringe. I worked in the pot-washing part of a hotel kitchen. When they put the pots on their heads, all I can think of is damn, going to have to wash those again. I love this jazzy pop vibe. It has become her "standard" approach. But, when you hear "What a Wonderful World" ,recently released, you still appreciate her versatility. Good stuff!

Yes, I can understand that - lol. I was a chef for many years and had to train other kitchen staff. It's amazing how little people know about being sanitary in a kitchen. Angelina is such a treat to listen to. I'll be doing more reactions to her, for sure. 🙂

Ron, great to have you reacting to Angelina again. Congrats on your channel exceeding 10k subscribers. 7th Heaven is a favorite original for many angels. A great jazzy, upbeat song with a positive message. Sadly, to date, Angelina has not been fully promoted and all indications are she is leaving Republic Records, who removed her from their artists page on their website.
