Perfect timing! Exactly the message of "7th Heaven" About the song, Angelina commented, “Life has ups and downs, and you always have to be ready for whatever is coming up. The song is a reminder to look at everything in a positive light and not get down on yourself. Most importantly-no matter what you’re doing-don’t give up. So many things are amazing about Angelina. But right here I'm going to get into something specific that I think might be the most amazing. Most of the time I get tired of people always talking about her age, because I think regardless of her age she has the greatest voice on God's green earth. But right now I'm going to talk about it. How does someone of her age so easily know how to improve a great song? She knows her own voice so well, she knows what's good about it. She knows what's good about the voice that she's covering also. All the other amazing young singers blow us away by how close they get to copying the original, they probably spent hours and hours listening and singing along with the song until they copied it perfectly. It seems to me that Angelina listens to a song, and right away starts to figure out what could make it better, never forgetting what made it good in the first place. We've heard it many times before, especially in those videos where she's got just the guitarist or the karaoke track with her, where she's sitting there looking at the lyrics, maybe just heard the song for the first time minutes before, and then just effortlessly improves the song. How does she know so much about music at such a young age, how is her arsenal so deep?

Christie, we are sending you comments already. Is Angelina very special to us? She has changed so many lives for the better. Her love is irresistible and she is actually inspiring us to be better people, more loving, more caring. It is absolutely phenomenal what is going on! Christie, she has no boundaries: Gender, age, color, religion, language, doesn't make a difference. People all over the world love her. I know she only has about 6 originals right now. They are all very nice and each has profound lyrics from Angelina's heart. But, Christie, her covers are very special. More times than not her covers are better than the originals. Her voice, her rearrangements, her interpretation of the lyrics, her soulful and jazzy tones are remarkable. I say this because I want so much for you to listen to many of them. I know you will enjoy it and I believe it's a fantastic learning tool for your students to listen to Angelina's versatility. Anyway, see you at 9.

I think adults often underestimate the strength of feelings kids have and their imagination. She's very good in associating her own imagination with it. But when she pours her own heartbreak into a song it even feels some 10 times stronger, e.g. Million Miles. Thats the power of writing your own stories.

You’ve said the things I’ve thought for several years about Angelina’s singing. She’s at a different level, and that’s really an objective evaluation-not just praise from a devoted fan. Her voice has depth, texture, and resonance that is addictive and calming at the same time. And in addition to that natural gift, she has honed her technical skills just beautifully. When I hear Adele, whom I love, I am moved by her power and emotion. Angelina can match that, but then also gives us tenderness, nuance, and her truly unmatched ability to live the lyrics like no one I’ve ever heard. It’s like Angelina is singing in 3D compared to most other vocalists. Her bottomless vocal toolkit gives her such command over emotional songs like this, but also provides complete authenticity for jazz and blues. Throw in that mesmerizing voice, and it’s just not fair. Without any reservation, she is the best singer I’ve ever heard.

Maybe the best AJ reaction I've ever seen -- and I've seen most of them. From the moment I saw Angelina sing Summertime on Norways' Got Talent it was clear that she is an exceptional musical genius, an unbelievable combination of innate vocal ability and musical comprehension. What is so unusual is the way that she has continued to develop over the years. So many prodigies flame out. But, as you say so well, Angelina's sense of herself as an artist is so fundamental and so grounded. All the people around her who have guided her career have helped to balance her development so perfectly. It is such a pleasure to watch someone this confident and sure of herself live up to the full potential she showed as a young child.

Angelina Jorden - Bio from Republic Record The Norwegian - Los Angeles-based 15-year-old singer and songwriter amplified her voice around the globe, racking up over half-a-billion KZbin views, just shy of 2 billion Facebook views, and praise from Time, CNN, The BBC, and People. Along the way, she performed for world leaders at some of the most influential events in Europe, appeared on European and North American television, and quietly enraptured a growing fan base. In 2020, she brings a soulful signature sound to life with her Republic Records debut. The breadth of Angelina’s soulful and deep alto vocal delivery showcases a rare class of musical aptitude that you would attribute to an old soul, and legendary talent, well beyond her years. “I feel like I’ve lived many years more than my age. I feel like music found me. I want people to get connected to my music and my lyrics and to share something special with the love I have for music." Angelina went from belting out Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” to immersing herself in jazz at five-years-old. She discovered Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong by combing jazz playlists across KZbin. At eight-years-old, she won Norway’s Got Talent with a viral rendition of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday.” Labels and producers feverishly sought her out, but she already possessed a clear picture of what her path would be. Taking her time, she opted to carefully hone her voice through countless hours of practice, gigs, and writing. “It was really great, but I knew I wanted something bigger,” she admits. “I didn’t want to jump into it until I felt I was ready.” She got “ready” through a series of historic performances. She graced the stage of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and delivered an emotionally charged rendition of “What A Wonderful World.” A year later, she wowed an audience at Brilliant Minds in Stockholm. Touching down in Seoul during 2017, she joined a powerhouse bill alongside PSY and Norah Jones in front of 40,000 people at Muse In City Festival. Quincy Jones personally invited her to perform at his 85th birthday at London’s O2 Arena. Every time she took the stage, she was notably barefoot, which remains one of her signatures thus far. “A long time ago, I was traveling with my family, and I met a young homeless girl with no shoes,” she recalls. “She was barefoot, so I gave her my shoes because I really wanted to help her. Today, I sing barefoot as a reminder of all the kids in the world who need help and support.” Along the way, GRAMMY® Award-winning production duo Stargate [Beyoncé, Sam Smith, Rihanna] reached out, and they initiated a fervent creative partnership together. She continued to write lyrics, compose on piano and guitar, and record. Catching the attention of Republic Records, she inked a deal with the label in 2020. Now, she formally introduces herself on the single “Million Miles.” With lyrics exclusively penned by Angelina, her robust delivery sails over sparse piano on the verses as the track builds towards a sweeping refrain, “We’re a million miles apart. It’s pulling my heart." “Million Miles” is about losing someone you really love,” she explains. “This song is very personal to me, because I had never felt the feeling of losing someone before I wrote this.” With more music on the horizon, there is more of Angelina’s captivating voice and songwriting in store.

As always Christy, your analysis and emotional response to an Angelina performance is Outstanding!! 10+ For me, this is Angelina's best performance, but maybe that's because it's the last one I've heard. She does that to me a lot. You make so many good technical points about her voice and this performance. But can you help me understand why listening to this makes me tear up every time I hear it---well over 100 times now. I feel like she just had this experience and sat down, wrote this song, and sang it while the emotions are still raw within her. How does she do that?? And that's a gigantic difference between her version and anyone else's, including the original. It just feels like this is HER song. I've never known a singer who can consistently take someone else's song, and make it Her song. We can analyze what she is doing till there's nothing left to analyze, and we're left with the reality that she is an unexplainable phenom. Since her operation to remove those nodes I am not sure what she has done other than loose alot of weight which she was highly criticized for. I think that was one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen so a huuuuge thank you 🙏 who am I hearing? Angelina Jordan.

I'm pretty late to this video, but I just have to say, I agree with everything you said. To respond to your question at 15:15 "who are you hearing?", I really only have one answer... "Angelina". It seems like a simple answer, but it is valid. You mentioned all the different influences you hear in the lick (and I can't disagree with any of them), but having listened to Angelina's whole lifetime (so far) of vocals so many times, I really have trouble making comparisons anymore. She is such a unique combination of all those that came before her. I am confident someone could play something from Angelina that I have not heard (if it existed), and I would know within 2-3 notes that I was hearing Angelina Jordan. There is no voice I have ever heard in my lifetime that sounds like her (to me anyway).

It's glorious to find others who see how special this gifted one is. She has a unique, once in a century to connect her soul to ours and lift us to a higher plane. That riff you mentioned....Yes !!! Ella , Etta, Sam Cooke...even a bit of Christina Aguilera. For your pure enjoyment you should hear Feeling Good - the Nina Simone standard the outdoor concert and the big production show are both priceless. 🥰 Also her original 7th Heaven....so much fun and jazzy greatness. 🥰

Angelina is a musician--a true artist, and her voice is an instrument over which she has both mastery and creativity. She challenges herself, tries new things all the time, and explores all the subtleties of expression--tone, space, dynamics, resonance, blending, edges... She sings like a fine painter (and yes, she also paints)

Followed her for years, and Angelina is a once in a lifetime talent. I will peruse your purpose video, as we all need that in our lives. Thank God for my parents who raised me right to appreciate life, and know that we are all capable of doing good for our communities we live in. Your reactions are excellent

I'm a grown man, not yet elderly, in my 70s. I have over the years become pretty jaded with the 'effects' singers put into their voices, and I can recognize the difference between talent and hoked-up mediocrity. I have easily listened to Angelina's version of this song a dozen times or more. Every single time, it's involuntary, I get tears in my eyes and chills all over. Her voice resonates through my body, I can feel it in my spine. This is something I absolutely have never seen or heard before. Never. She's 15 here, still just a girl. It's almost scary to think what she will be doing in 10 years.

Your reaction is detailed and insightful, you touch on the fact that she is going to take flight and we may forget this magical start and how we should savor it while it lasts. Thank you for simply saying what we feel.

So good to see you again, Christie. You are spot on on all counts. How she is able to sing her songs as she has lived the love, pain or emotions in them. I have seen many commenting that she cannot possibly do that, but yet, she does. Every single time. And she has done it from the age of 7. This is one of the absolute best reactions to this song. And there are only praises out there, just saying. This is another masterpiece from Angelina, she is such a master of her craft. Thank you, Christie, very well done 😊

Thank you for your remarkable reaction on our beautiful singing angel singing the most incredible song of Adele in so amazing manner I really am so amazed of time and time again. She has the emotions the power the softness the power to convey and the talent to captivate you without her knowing it. Yes, like the song goes, Angelina sings like she puts a spell on you. Keep on singing Angie and heal the weary world, thank you so much 💕✨🌹👏🇳🇴

For those who are not aware, it should be noted that Odin, the Viking God who resides in Valhalla, decided to send to Earth Angelina and Aurora to rule the furthest opposite ends of the human musical spectrum. They are the two most unique voices I have heard since Amy Winehouse.

(Great reaction as always) I'm just gonna say its scary to imagine just how GREAT Ms Jordan is gonna be and just how much she is going to put these other so called top singers in the shade 🌹

Such a treasure. A huge flawless sapphire, perfectly faceted with vocal techniques on every facet. Her greatest difficulty is finding a microphone which can properly capture her full dynamic range. If it is sensitive enough to capture the nuances of her low breathy emotions, it gets overloaded when she belts the chorus.
@marctoone40783 жыл бұрын
That was a great reaction! I really appreciate your vocabulary and eloquence. As far as the singularity that is Angelina, observation supports that she has above average hearing and that coupled with extraordinary vocal ability explains the miracle of Angelina Jordan. P.S. Great observation and attention to her run just before the second chorus! You are the only reactor that honored that run as it should be. Ma'at pause for that run, it was so long, dense, and finely crafted! Well thanks for recognizing Angelina as fluently as you do.

Hands down, Angelina has technically the best voice in the world. And her "instrument" has not fully grown up! And her voice is distinctive between million others 🥰

Of course, Angelina Jordan's voice is extraordinarily beautiful and everyone can hear it. I also see that this young girl gives off a magnificent soul in her behavior, in the person she is in the depths of her and it is this beauty who can be heard when she sings and who touches our hearts all. This makes her unique.

After I heard a dozen times this cover I went to listen to Adele version and Bruno Mars ..... Wow ... Can Angelina be defined a minimalist singer ?, in the meaning that everything is necessary to carry emotions is there, all the unnecessary remaining is removed ..... Her version carries such a bigger load of emotions compared to the other two versions....
